WHY ARE BIOMETRICS IMPORTANT?




Biometric technology is used at the passport e-Gates in many airports around the
world. By obtaining a Biometric Passport Photo from an authorised outlet means
that the image on your passport will be compatible with this new global
standard. As the ID Station uses the same software requirements as set out by
ICAO, your photo is likely to meet the strict international standards for
passport photos.



DO THE PASSPORT PHOTOS COME WITH A COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE?




The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have set standards for
photographs to be included in machine-readable travel documents such as
passports. These standards are loaded into the ID Station and each photo is
checked against them. The ID Station allows you to produce a Compliance
Certificate which signifies that your ID Photo meets the strict ICAO benchmarks.



WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO GET THE CORRECT PASSPORT PHOTO?




You must provide two recent identical colour photographs of yourself with your
completed passport application. As many passports are now electronic and utilise
the “e-gate” at the airport, it’s essential that your photo can be read by these
devices. By getting a biometric passport photo with compliance certificate,
you’re in the best position to have a compatible photo for an e-passport
