WELCOME TO IGARRA LAND

Igarra is the Headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area in Edo State,
Nigeria. It is a centre of commerce, second most commercialized town in Edo
North, after Auchi, the economic nerve centre of the Local Government.

IDA in conjunction with Rotary Club of Lagos Palmgrove Estate (District 9110) is
conducting Free Eye Screening for Cataract and Pterygium  on October 27 and 28,
2017.

 

Igarra Statistics According to the NPC 2016
It has a population figure approximating 262, 647 according to the 2006
population census with a current growth rate of approximately 2.2% (National
Population Commission Index).

Utua the economic hub of Igarra
The Igarra Central Business District is located at Utua Quarter with a major
market and supermarkets within the town centre. Filling stations and other
economic activities are highly concentrated at the Utua Quarter which is the
economic hub of Igarra. The town is linked to Auchi in the south and Abuja in
the North.
