Hope Hicks, a former top aide to President Donald Trump, has taken the stand to
testify in his criminal trial in Manhattan for allegedly falsifying records
related to a hush money payment to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels.


New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan started Friday’s court session by
assuring Trump that he can testify during the trial if he wants to and that the
judge’s gag order applies only to statements made outside court.
