Melissa Leong is one of Canada’s best-loved authorities on personal finance.

A bestselling author, Melissa wrote the award-winning, feel-good finance guide
Happy Go Money. She also spent almost two decades working as a newspaper
journalist — interviewing thousands of people — and most recently covered
personal finance for the Financial Post.

Christine Van Cauwenberghe
Head of Financial Planning
IG Wealth Management


Christine joined IG in 2001 as Director, Tax and Estate Planning after
practicing tax and corporate law at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman in Winnipeg for
seven years. She advanced to the Assistant Vice-President role in 2012 and
became Vice-President, Tax & Estate Planning in 2015. Christine holds a Bachelor
of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of
Manitoba. She is also a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Retirement
Consultant and holds the TEP designation from the Society of Trust and Estate
Practitioners.

Christine is the author of Wealth Planning Strategies for Canadians, which is
published annually by Thomson Carswell.

Mike Thomas, CFA, CLU, CFP, TEP
Vice-President, Insurance Distribution
IG Wealth Management


Mike started at London Life in 1992 as an advisor before joining Investors Group
in 1995 as an Insurance Manager. He was appointed to be one of two original
Senior Insurance Managers in 2008.

In September 2011, Mike was appointed to the role of Vice President, Insurance
Distribution for Investors Group and is responsible for the Insurance and Estate
Planning Specialist Network across the country.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has a Bachelor of Commerce
degree. He has completed numerous industry designations including the Chartered
Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life
Underwriter (CLU), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
