Orttung, a research professor of international affairs and director of research for Sustainable GW, are working to make a positive impact on campus life. The students engaged in a year-long learning, research and action program to increase composting and envision how to allow for more green space on campus. The fellows conducted a pilot program at the 1959 E Street residence hall to make composting more approachable and worked with the Sustainable Urban Planning program on possible renderings for the potential development of a woonerf, or a living street.
