User Instruction: This is a MANUAL lens, NO electronic contacts, that's why your
camera will not recognize the lens, it requires full manual settings on camera &
lens body., please switch to MF MODE in order to use this lens correctly. Tips
to use Manual Lens: 1) Set the mode dial to Manual (M); 2) Set the Release w/o
Lens option in the camera menu to Enable; 3) Set the Shutter lock option in the
camera menu to Off: no lens.
Fine tune the front focusing ring to make subject in-focus and take a sample
picture. If the picture turns out dark, take the following steps to improve, 1.
Lower the shutter speed, from 1/500s down to 1/100s or slower 1/50 etc; 2. Raise
the ISO Number, from ISO 100 to ISO 200/400/800 etc; 3. Use a remote shutter
release and tripod to increase image stability; 4. Switch position to allow more
environmental light coming through the lens into the camera imaging sensor.

   This product is wonderful. I am a novice and it is easy to use and attach to
   the camera I have. Also, I had issues with first lens and with no problem
   they sent me a new one. Works great, captures beautiful pictures!!

   I am extremely pleased with this. For the price I was expecting something
   cheaply made, impossible to use. There was no way I could get good pictures,
   I thought.First off, it's very well constructed. Heavy, sturdy steel. The
   lenses seem crystal clear. It feels like a more expensive item. It's not some
   3D printed, mass produced piece of crap. Definitely worth more than the
   price, as far as workmanship is concerned.Secondly, I was pleasantly
   surprised with the picture quality I got. Of course the first pictures I took
   were of the moon (like everyone else). You can actually see craters. The
   picture of the rabbit--that's from about 50 feet away, hand held, no tripod.
   You can see for yourself the color and the clarity.Now, this IS a manual
   lens. I'm using a Nikon D3200, very basic DSLR, set to MANUAL. After
   experimenting with different ISO's and shutter speeds, and some pictures that
   didn't turn out, I think I got the hang of it. For the moon picture I did
   have to mount it on a tripod and use the timer release to click the shot, to
   minimize blur. But you can get good pictures without a tripod for distances
   up to about 50 feet.Definitely worth the price. I wasn't quite ready to
   invest in a $3000-10,000 lens. This does what I need it to do.

   Recieved this item the other day and had a chance to use a few times to take
   pictures of the moon and sun (with a solar filter attached). While images of
   the moon show some chromatic aberration, it is excellent quality for the
   price. Image quality is on par with some of my older basic canon lenses
   (softness in image details, chromatic aberration, etc). As long as you don't
   expect the image quality of a L series lenses, this is a very good lens...but
   I wouldn't expect that with a lens that is 10-20x less expensive.Bottom
   line...so far I'm pleased with this lens and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase
   again.

   I Was Expecting A Bloody Mess . . .I purchased this "Used" for $53.00 { I Am
   Frugal ! }I certainly wouldn't consider paying much more than that.It was
   delivered on November 27th 2023, and finally got it attached to The D850 on
   the 29th.And I am extremely surprised by the image quality at 420mm, and the
   ability to focus to 6'ish. feet !

   Purchased this because the listing said it was compatible with the Nikon
   d5300. It is not compatible. The D5300 does not have the correct menu
   settings to use a manual lens, I did not know that at the time of purchase.I
   kept the lens anyways. It didn't cost that much and I plan on getting a
   different camera anyways because mine is getting a little old. I'll just need
   to find a camera that will work with this lens.

   Had fun playing around and startled by what I could see thru the lens but did
   not result in clear pictures. I adjusted the settings but had to get the lens
   really wide open to have enough light. I guess it will be okay for long
   distance scenery...maybe, but not for catching birds and such as they will be
   moving. It was a cheap buy on Prime day and good for playing with

   I wanted to use this lens to shoot photos of bears near where I live in
   Montana. They are grizzly bears that gather in a specific area to eat a
   specific plant so they’re a predator to humans and it’s required to use a
   telephoto lens, the longer the better, for safety reasons. I found the focus
   ring was just very tight and hard to turn and that is not going to work for
   the type of stop action shooting I do, the focus also was not as crisp and I
   would see in something that shoots a little more opened up. It is no longer a
   practical purchase because it does t quite work for what I needed. For
   beginners or something this might be a good tool in patience and staged shots

   This lens requires skill with your camera. It's awkwardly long, especially at
   800mm. Focal adjustment rotation range is nearly two full turns. However, if
   you want to shoot bright targets that aren't moving at greater than 400mm,
   this is about the least expensive way to do it. They saved money by giving it
   T-threads and including the appropriate T-adapter for your camera.I bought it
   for shooting the sun through solar film, and it will work fine for that.
   Focusing is the greatest challenge, especially since you're standing in
   bright sunlight. In my experience, optical, or through the viewfinder
   focusing works best, but even on a tall tripod it's in an awkward position
   when viewing the sun mid day.

   The lens itself is good for beginner photography. I’d recommend getting used
   to using your camera in manual mode first. The only issue I have is with the
   t-mount. The lens seems to not be completely locked into the t-mount, im
   guessing the threading has worn out with only 3 uses. The first image is raw
   while the second is edited.
