HOW DO I EXPORT MY METAMASK SEED PHRASE TO ANOTHER PORTFOLIO?

On MetaMask, the seed phrase or secret mnemonic phrase is a recovery phrase
consisting of 12 words. These words are part of a bip 39 standard which contains
2048 words from the English dictionary. Note that this bip 39 standard is not
respected by all wallets, so you may not be able to re-import your phrase into
any wallet.

The concept is simple: come words are easily memorable because they are composed
of only 3 letters. In any case, from 4ème letter, each of these words becomes
totally unique. That is, if you start by typing the first 4 letters, the end of
the word will be displayed in an intuitive way. It is therefore impossible to
make a mistake when typing restoration of its seed phrase.

 

In any case, if you are looking to secure your seed phrase after opening your
account on MetaMask, the best solution is to combine it with a hard wallet and
to protect the seed phrase with our solution !

HOW DO YOU EXPORT YOUR SECRET PHRASE FROM METAMASK?


EXPORT YOUR SEED PHRASE FROM YOUR CURRENT BROWSER (CHROME)

For export a secret phrase to your Chrome browserSimply follow the steps below:
 

1 – Log in to your MetaMask account or create one.

2 - Click on the account containing cryptos (often account 1).

3 - Then click on " Parameters " with the wheel and then in the list that
appears.

4 - Select " Security and privacy ".

5 - Then click on "Reveal the secret recovery phrase".

6 - You must then re-enter your passwordfor obvious security reasons. 

7 - Your secret recovery phrase is displayed.

8 - At this point, you have the option of copying it (it is saved in the
clipboard). You will then only have to use the option " paste " later) or save
it in a csv file.

9 - You can now go to another browser or directly to your smartphone, in order
to proceed to theimport your wallet using the secret phrase.

 



 


IMPORT THE SEED PHRASE INTO THE BRAVE BROWSER

To import your recovery phrase into the Brave :

1 - Log into your MetaMask account from the Brave navigator by downloading the
Metamask extension for Brave.

2 - It is directly requested to restore the account using the seed phrase.

3 - You need to enter the 12 words of your seed phrase before creating a new
password, confirm it and finally click on "Restore".

4 - You can now access the funds in your Wallet from Brave.

 

If some currencies are not visible, you can click on "Add tokens and search for
the corresponding missing items in the search bar.

For example: you enter the first letters of Compound : " COMP " and the list
appears below. You select the one you want and you can then access your account
balances.

 


CONNECT YOUR METAMASK WALLET TO SAFEPAL

 

You also have the possibility to restore your wallet in a physical wallet, also
called "hard wallet.

We have based the following explanations on a SafePal wallet.

Once you have it, we invite you to click on the + at the top right of the
screen.

 

Then you select "Software portfolioand then "import via recovery phrase".

It is possible to import Seed Phrase of 12, 15, 18, 21 or even 24 words. You
have to enter the 12 words from the seed phrase of the MetaMask then enter the "
Name of the portfolio " before clicking on "Import a portfolioat the bottom of
the screen.

All funds are then restored to the Wallet.

It is also possible to have the details and to find all the transactions made,
as well as the address. To do this, you click on a currency in the list and you
access a screen displaying the incoming and outgoing flows.

 

The restore a crypto wallet using the seed phrase has no more secrets for you!

 


HOW DO I GET MY METAMASK ACCOUNT BACK?

Forgot your MetaMask password? Is your recovery passphrase invalid?
