FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BORROWING TREND IN THE LAST 21 YEARS

The Nigerian Government in the last 21 years has been engaged in a non stop
borrowing the gravity of Nigeria debt situation is captured in this data

From 1999 to 2007 during Obasanjo reign,the borrowed 2.42 trillion naira,from
2007 to 2011 the administration of Yar adua 6.17 trillion naira was borrowed,
from 2011 to 2015 under the administration of Good luck Ebele Jonathan the
Nigerian Government is seen to have borrowed the sum of 12.12 trillion
naira.From 2015 to 2021 under the administration of Mohammed buhari 26.91
trillion naira has been borrowed.

From the analysis above,our debt as a nation is seen to be spiralling out of
control with alot of Nigerian asking what is the way forward.

The FX rate of naira to dollars from 1999 to 2007 from $1 equalled #116.8 within
the space of 2007 to 2011,the naira to dollars increased to 156.7 and within
2011 to 2015 naira to dollars increased to 196.95 and from 2015 to 2021
increasement of 381.0 is seen.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

The UN general assembly adopted the resolution of recognizing October 11,2012 as
the inauguration day of international Day of a Girl child which was centered
around the grave issues of child marriages. The department of mass communication
kaduna polytechnic marked this year annual celebration with a seminar aimed at
creating awareness about the Girl child

The program started with a opening speech by the HOD of the department ,Dr Gambo
Ibrahim Ahmad,followed by Mal Sanusi who is the UNICEF representative in kaduna
polytechnic address the student of the importance of a Girl Child Education,
where he speaks about how millions of Girls out there are not able to be in
school and also speak the designated to elimate gender-based challenges that
little girls faces around the world, including child marriages,poor learning
opportunities,violence and discrimination.

Also Miss comfort Mado Alabi PHD and Dr Maryam Jimoh speaks about the issues
Girls face internationally such as forced marriage,legal rights,medical
rights,and education also the woman leader of mass communication Rukaiya kalid
Usman made a speech at the end to her follow student.

Some of the lectures also speaks to the students among the lectures are Mrs
Fatti,Mrs Bankole.One of the Host miss Sumayya Abdulahi Hussain speaks about the
raise awareness on the concept of reproductive health education/rights ,
menstrual hygiene and gaps, opportunities to end period poverty among student.

The day focuses on the rights, safety and education of girls. The core objective
is to make girls an active part oft me the progress of the world.

As part of the celebration, at selected to highlight the need of the hour. This
year, the the me has been set as “Our time is now; Our it’s our Future. The
African Initiative for Advancing Social Care and development (AFSCAD) is a non
governmental organization work store build African communities and integrate a
system that will facilitate human development and improve quality lives.


As every child in the world especially in Africa, deserve quality knowledge as
part of government responsibility to educate him or her by making good
structures and providing all basic needs in the school for making it’s country
education to world and digital standard.
