SHIELD OF ARMOR WELLNESS SEMINAR LAW ENFORCEMENT WELLNESS SEMINAR 2022 “It’s OK to not be OK” mental health support for officers and their families More officers die by suicide than are killed in the line of duty. It is time we work to reduce the stigma associated with officers seeking mental health treatment for traumas they have sustained during their careers. The Cape Girardeau Police Department is proud to offer the first year for what we hope to become an annual seminar targeting officers, staff and spouses across the state to break the walls associated with mental health. It’s time we start the conversation and engage our fellow officers. This 2-day wellness seminar is open to officers and their spouses/significant others. Officers and their spouses/significant others will learn the signs and symptoms associated with stress, anxiety and depression. You will begin to build the shield of armor for how to manage those symptoms that enable a long successful marriage, career and life.
