UK 5 DAY WEATHER FORECAST


MONDAY 23 JAN - FRIDAY 27 JAN

HEADLINE:

Fog slow to clear parts of central and southern England.

TODAY:

Frosty start across central and southern England, with freezing fog patches,
persisting throughout in a few places, else sunny spells developing. The odd
shower far southeast, whilst cloudier and milder across west and north with some
drizzle in the west.

TONIGHT:

Frosty with freezing fog reforming across central and southern England and east
Wales. Cloudier far southeast, and also in northwestern areas with some light
rain or drizzle.

TUESDAY:

Cloud and occasional rain in the northwest. Bright and very mild in the
northeast. Fog patches slow to clear over central and southern areas, else dry
with some sunshine.

OUTLOOK FOR WEDNESDAY TO FRIDAY:

Fog patches in the south early Wednesday with rain moving south later, sunny
spells following this. Most places dry Thursday and Friday with sunny spells,
rain in the northwest later.

UK LONG RANGE WEATHER FORECAST


FRIDAY 27 JAN - SUNDAY 5 FEB

On Friday, fine weather is expected at first in the south, with some patchy
frost and fog possible. Cloud and outbreaks of light rain and drizzle are likely
across in northwest spreading southeast throughout the day. Further spells of
persistent rain, with strong winds, are expected in the northwest later. For the
rest of the period, dry and clear conditions, with sunny spells are expected
across many places. Rainbands could spread from the northwest at times,
weakening as they move southeastwards. As a result, rain and wintry showers are
expected in the north and northwest, with isolated rain across the southern and
southeastern areas. Strong winds with gales are likely in the far north.
Temperatures overall will be near normal to mild, with overnight frost.

MONDAY 6 FEB - MONDAY 20 FEB

The start of the period is likely to see a northwest-southeast split developing,
bringing the driest and most settled conditions to the southeast while the north
remains more unsettled with wet and windy weather. Later in the period,
changeable conditions are expected to become more widespread, with the north
continuing to see the most unsettled weather. In the south and southeast,
settled conditions are more likely, but the occasional period of rain or showers
remains possible. Temperatures generally slightly above average, but brief,
colder spells are possible, especially to start.
