VERSE OF THE DAY for Thursday, February 29th, 2024 [ Previous Devotionals ] × search Vers des Tages / (Deutsch) "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. I wanted to remind you that we are basing our Scripture verses this year on the day — February 29, or 2/29, becomes Luke 2:29. And my prayer for you on this Leap Day is that your relationship with Jesus makes you want to leap for joy and bow in reverent thanks to Jesus for all he has done. May our Lord bring you peace! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old devout Simeon uttered these words when he saw the Christ child. Similar praise of Jesus must be our goal as well. While we cannot physically see Jesus, our salvation, and hold him in our arms as Simeon did, we can see him through Scripture, worship, ministry, evangelism, faith, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Let's make it our aim to honor God as the only true God and to follow, praise, and adore Jesus as our Lord and Savior! MY PRAYER... Righteous Father, please help me know Jesus better, and be formed more perfectly into his image, and live with his character. Dear God, I want to be like Christ in my character and conduct. I seek to be a genuine disciple as I become more and more like my great Teacher, Friend, and Lord every day. It is in his name, Jesus Christ, that I praise you and pray. Amen.
