WE STRIVE TO ENSURE THAT NO PERSON WILL GO HUNGRY AND THAT OUR CLIENTS ARE
TREATED WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY.




HOW TO ACCESS THE FOOD BANK

To become a registered client of the Powassan and District Food Bank, we require
each member of your family’s Ontario Health Card information. In addition,
verification of household income is required , if any (max $42,000 annual
income).


OUR POINTS SYSTEM

Receiving items based on a point-value system benefits all customers. Every item
accessible to our consumers is given a point value, with each home receiving a
maximum of 155 points every visit. The point system takes into account the
composition of the household and the ages of the members.

Milk, eggs, bread, (fresh vegetables when available), and meat or poultry
products are included with each order. 
Baby food, formula, diapers, and feminine hygiene products will be included for
free as they become available (zero points).



*A dependant (18 years +) is someone who relies on another person for help, most
commonly financial help. A dependant can be a relative, or anyone else who is
unable to care for themselves and must rely on someone else to do so.

FARMERS’ MARKET

We will be collecting donations weekly at the Powassan farmers’ market. The
market runs from May long weekend until Thanksgiving weekend. Come visit us
every Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm rain or shine. The Farmers’ Market is
located at the south entrance of town, beside the Beer Store in Powassan.


COVID UPDATES

Clients can now come inside and sit in the chairs in the hallway, the doors will
be unlocked. You can sit in your car but we ask that you please come in and let
us know you are here…
