Hello, we are Lizco Studios —a product design studio that integrates with your
team. Our process prioritizes doing over thinking, and usability over
everything.



Below are some recent highlights, the case studies are a work in progress, if

🚀 MVP Launch & Beyond

Headstarter is an early stage startup with a vision for an AI professor that
helps CS students get jobs. We designed the entire platform focusing on a user
experience that would engage, delight, and retain their audience of Gen Z’ers
looking for their first software engineering gig. Beyond the MVP launch we have
evolved the design to create a lovable product that has seen steady growth and
continues to increase MoM retention.

📈 Product enhancement

Open edX is an open source Learning Management System that thousands of
companies have built their businesses on. The team at Axim Collaborative, the
nonprofit organization that runs OpenEdx, needed a way for their thousands of
course authors to be able to reference content in a single place for use in
their myriad online courses. The launch of libraries is expected to have a
massive impact on the way course authors find content and use it within their
courses, making it much easier and more efficient to build complex online
courses.

🚢 product definition & Launch

PACE was designed for runners with a training goal - aimed to serve busy
athletes, PACE utilized artificial intelligence that would adjust an athlete's
training plan based on their performance. We paired the AI with real coaches to
give the athlete a real sense of accountability to the programming. PACE allowed
coaches to scale their reach and athletes to get a custom training plan at a
fraction of the cost of hiring a coach. PACE launched in 2021 and saw great
adoption at launch. Unfortunately, the app was sunset before we could really see
it take off due to a change in strategy by the parent company.

🧭 Navigation overhaul

We transformed the TrainingPeaks mobile navigation to engage and retain
athletes. We helped solve TrainingPeaks’ declining adoption by designing a
landing experience in their mobile app where users could get a glimpse into
their training journey. The new landing experience significantly increased
adoption in the TrainingPeaks mobile app.

Studio

LIZCO Studios was founded in 2023 after Liz Cohen (Lizco) decided to ditch her
full time job and “figure it out.” It seems to be going pretty well.




We are a small design shop based in Golden, CO but our team is fully
distributed. Everyone chooses their best working environment and lives their
best life. We meet as a team for daily standup and we all really like each
other, which we think is pretty important. Based in Colorado, when we’re not
designing, we are out of service.

We get it.

You’re looking for a design team to help tame the chaos. We get it. You need
results and you need them yesterday. We pride ourselves on efficiency, and also,
greatness doesn’t happen over night. We promise we will be there in the thick of
it with you - LIZCO team members work as semi-embedded members on your team. We
bring our culture and expertise and integrate into your dynamic.

We never leave you guessing.

We show our work throughout the entire process. In meetings we share our screens
and expect productive conversation every step of the way. We also integrate with
your communication tools and will share regular updates via video walkthroughs
and prototype links as often as necessary (usually 2x/ week).

We crush deadlines.

We start very low fidelity to help us get on the same page and move quickly
later. As we onboard and learn about your business and customers, we generate a
lot of concepts and ideas.




Rather than waste time showing you polished work at this stage, we are more
focused on getting directionally correct and aligned. Starting this way allows
us to crush deadlines later. In many cases this is also where we go deep with
your product team to understand the roadmap and in many cases, we help guide it.

Engagements

Ongoing

We work together on an ongoing basis, at your pace, as semi-embedded members of
your team. These engagements typically last more than 6 months. We often start
with a shorter engagement to ensure we are a good fit before moving to a longer
agreement.

Project

You have a (fairly) specific thing you need done such as a new feature or a
revamp of an existing feature. Typically 3-6months.
