Home / Products / SEALS & FASTENERS O-RINGS An O-ring is a donut, or torus shaped seal typically used to prevent the passing of air or fluid. In other words, O-rings are used to keep fluid or air IN or OUT of a defined space.. BACK-UP RINGS A back-up ring is a rigid ring that holds an elastomeric seal or plastic connection to its designed shape and in its correct place. Back up rings are commonly used with O-rings, lip seals, and as reciprocating shaft seals. BONDED SEALS A bonded seal is a type of washer used to provide a seal around a screw or bolt. Originally made by Dowty Group, they are also known as Dowty seals or Dowty washers. BOLTS & NUTS A bolt is a form of threaded fastener with an external male thread. Bolts are closely related to allow nuts to be attached to what is really a screw. A nut is a type of fastener with a threaded hole. Nuts used in conjunction with a mating bolt to fasten multiple parts together. GASKETS A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression. SPRINGS Springs are manufactured from just one wire, and therefore could not be simpler in many respects, yet they hold the ingenious structure to be variably functional, consistent and absolutely vital to many mechanisms.
