Avonlea and I did a tour of our shop with @practicalmachinist !!! If you’d like
to see how we make stuff, check it out on their youtube channel. We machine all
@carbontactics belt buckles using our own brand of machine vises that we
officially launched just a few months ago called @fluxworkholding. Not only do
we machine our buckles and sew our belts, we also make the tools that make the

companies @carbontactics and @gearfur , he leaned on his background in
engineering and kinematics to design vises and start @fluxworkholding . Dylan
and Michael go through the ins and the outs of the vise, the ideas that shaped
it, and the concepts its based on. With Michael being a veteran of kickstarter
both also discuss the benefits of a pre-order and how to handle such an influx
of orders. Michael shares his products landing in some unusual places and some

Our brand new @fluxworkholding line of precision vises has generated a ton of
questions, number one being, how big is it? Well, here’ are some pics of the
vise with a standard banana for scale. For those of you using the metric system,

@fluxworkholding is officially live! I am incredibly excited to share something
that has been in the works for a long time. Since we first started machining
production parts for our Carbon Tactics line over 5 years ago, we have been
continuously improving our own manufacturing methods to deliver the best quality
parts as efficiently as possible. Today, we are launching our own line of cnc
machine vises that today are essential to how we do cnc manufacturing. We
couldn’t find a solution this precise, this productive, or this easy to use, so
we re-invented the wheel and made our own, and now we’re sharing it with the
world of cnc machinists and engineers so that others can follow the same path
that we have been so fortunate to experience, being able to make high-end,
precision components that can be competitive on a global stage.

This little part takes 90 seconds to machine. It’s done in 2 operations,
machined from rectangular bar stock. Could it be done faster? I have a feeling
the answer is yes, but I’m not sure how. Any ideas? #instamachinist
