ABOUT SPACE WARPS - DES VISION TRANSFORMER


IMAGINE A GALAXY, BEHIND ANOTHER GALAXY. THINK YOU WON'T SEE IT? THINK AGAIN.

Massive galaxies warp space-time, bending light rays so that we can see around
them. These gravitational lenses are very rare and hard to find, but you have
already helped us find hundreds of new candidates. We're improving our analysis
using your data, and finding even more interesting images - come and help us
find more lenses!

You might be wondering why this is called Space Warps-DES Vision Transformer:
the candidates you will be inspecting are the output of a machine learning
algorithm called Vision Transformer run on the Dark Energy Survey (DES) imaging
data. The project started out by Jimena Gonzalez Lozano, learn more about
Jimena's work on the team pages.
