MACQUARIE FINANCIAL SERVICES EXTERNSHIP

OVERVIEW

In this externship program, students will learn strategic consulting skills to
analyze and evaluate challenges from non-profit organizations using consulting
frameworks, in an overall effort to help them solve their important problems.
Selected individuals will be paired with a specific non-profit organization and
dive into their strategic problems, such as development, impact assessment,
process improvements, talent engagement, communication, and strategic
positioning. Throughout this externship program, professionals from PwC
(PricewaterhouseCoopers) will provide mentorship and coaching.


THE EXPERIENCE

 * Learn about the strategy consulting process and how to help create value for
   a non-profit client based on their vision and mission
 * Research and develop an understanding of a given field
 * Analyze complex problems ranging from fundraising and development,
   stakeholder management, impact measurement, as well as use consulting
   frameworks to help identify problem areas and propose solutions
 * Learn to gather, analyze, and visualize data to inform problem areas and
   possible solutions
 * Create and deliver a compelling presentation to a non-profit client that
   incorporates valuable insights, trends, and recommendations


QUALIFICATIONS

 * Ambitious undergraduate students with an interest in consulting, strategy,
   and non-profits. This program is for students who would like to understand
   the consulting profession while generating ideas to help impact non-profit
   organizations.

OVERVIEW

This externship opportunity at Macquarie Group, a global financial services
group, is tailored for ambitious college sophomores with a keen interest in
working in the financial services industry. 

‍

As an extern, you’ll gain valuable exposure and practical knowledge in
Macquarie's capital markets, commodities and asset management groups. Externs
will engage in projects that explore different aspects of the business, while
also gaining exposure to the market landscape.

‍

This experience will feature opportunities to connect with leaders across
Macquarie Group and is designed to preview the experience of working at
Macquarie. Externs will be invited to apply for the empowering, career-shaping
Macquarie internship program in the summer of 2026.

‍

This externship is offered in collaboration with Macquarie’s Racial Equity
Fund, which is committed to promoting a more equitable and just society for all
people in the Americas.

THE EXPERIENCE

Throughout the externship, you will have the opportunity to engage in a range of
activities aimed at gaining a comprehensive understanding of the financial
services.

‍

During this externship, you will:

 * Familiarize yourself with the vision, mission, and work of Macquarie Group
 * Engage with industry experts and professionals
 * Summarize your insights and develop an investment thesis, culminating in a
   pitch presentation ‍
 * Be assigned to one of the following business groups:
   * Commodities and Global Markets (CGM)
   * Macquarie Capital (MacCap)
   * Macquarie Asset Management (MAM)

QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking driven rising sophomore-year undergraduate students who have a
strong interest in asset management, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and
consulting. Students with backgrounds in finance, accounting, business, and
economics are highly encouraged to apply.

Part-time and remote with in-person components

This Externship is a 10-hour-per-week experience where all virtual meetings and
events are recorded.

September 23, 2024

This remote Externship will last 8 weeks.

$1000 stipend

Students who successfully complete their externships will receive their
educational stipends at the end of the program.



Geographical Eligibility

This Externship is open to rising sophomores (graduating as part of the Class of
Spring 2027 and December 2026) in the Houston and New York City areas.
