The fact that Microsoft Teams contains a feature called "Teams" where actual
teams can create a Team, and at Microsoft the teams working on that feature
probably have a Team to discuss the Teams feature, suggests that there exists a
Microsoft Microsoft Teams Teams Teams' Microsoft Teams Team.

Adam Greenfield<p>Beloved, I am begging you: *document your mutual-aid
practices*. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my conversations with
activists, it’s how much of the practical insight they developed – going back to
the 1960s, but as recent as COVID – now resides only in individual memory, and
is brought forth only if anyone thinks to ask for it specifically.</p>

HeavenlyPossum<p>I’ve seen one estimate that the total global spending on
militaries is $2.44 trillion. I can’t find a good estimate for total global
spending on policing, but it’s probably at least another few hundred billion
dollars.</p><p>Anyone who thinks that coercive hierarchies are the natural human
default, and thinks that egalitarian freedom is an expensive aberration, needs
to take even a cursory glance at how fucking expensive it is for our elites to
maintain their power over us.</p>
Dan Gero<p>Boosts appreciated. I'm making a page of questions <a

person with questions, or if you're a blind person who's been asked certain
questions repeatedly, send them my way.</p>

Matt Cengia (seeking work)<p>I am an ex-<span class="h-card"><a
href="https://mastodon.social/@fastmail" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow
noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fastmail</span></a></span> employee
and current subscriber. Like many of you, I am concerned about the recent
lay-offs (<a href="https://union.place/@fastmailunited/112672408714595554"
rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span
class="invisible">https://</span><span
class="ellipsis">union.place/@fastmailunited/11</span><span
class="invisible">2672408714595554</span></a>), and I'm trying hard to not fall
into a trap of just believing <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Fastmail"
class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"
target="_blank">#<span>Fastmail</span></a>'s statement (<a
href="https://indieweb.social/@chadkoh/112677853479447745" rel="nofollow
noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span
class="invisible">https://</span><span
class="ellipsis">indieweb.social/@chadkoh/11267</span><span
class="invisible">7853479447745</span></a>) without critical examination (even
though finding an alternative mail provider with feature parity would
*suck*).</p><p>However:<br>- When I was made redundant in 2017, my access to
internal systems was revoked during the exit meeting with my manager. Which
makes sense for a tech company concerned a disgruntled (ex-)employee may tamper
with company systems.<br>- Not even in the post from <span class="h-card"><a
href="https://union.place/@fastmailunited" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow
noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fastmailunited</span></a></span>
does it say "we were laid off because for union-related reasons". It says "we
were able to negotiate for a much better severance package than […] had we not
unionized", and they are "going to continue working to get a contract", and they
"now have a bunch of smart, kind, and talented folks who are looking for
work!"</p><p>So I guess what I'm saying is, while it *is* prudent to think
critically about this situation and it's your prerogative to vote with your
wallet, I'd caution against jumping to conclusions like "Fastmail is now a union
buster," based on the little information that has come out from any of the
outgoing staff members.</p>
