   Why are people so fed up with recruiters and job hunting? When you advertise
   a job online you're making the whole process INCLUSIVE - anyone can apply
   When the nature of hiring is EXCLUSIVE - you only want to hire the right
   person As a rule we don't advertise. But I broke that rule a few weeks back I
   posted an ad and after 20 minutes I took it down Over 100 applications from
   people who weren't right Not their fault - mine! It seems crazy to me that
   companies and recruitment agencies pay money to advertise jobs and then
   reject 99.9% of the people who respond You're literally paying to damage your
   brand to 99.9% of the workforce

   I have rejected +500 candidates with the best qualifications and skills.
   After going through multiple rounds of interviews, when they finally had a
   1:1 meeting with me, everything seemed in place. - Perfect skills - Vast
   experience - Based in/ready to relocate to Chandigarh (it's a big deal) -
   Matching our salary budget Then what goes wrong? Judge me for this but if I
   sense a lack of trust in them, I don't end up hiring them. For me, the energy
   a candidate carries in the room matters more than his degree or skills.
   Considering the high cost of employee turnover for a company, it is important
   to hire candidates who you think are reliable and culturally fit for your
   organisation. Even from an employee's point of view, if they don’t feel
   trusted, they will underperform, feel demotivated, and might betray their

   Absolutely not acceptable ❌ Why? Because this is none of your business, as an
   interviewer. Also, I don't think only a one-time interviewer training or some
   document will solve for this. We should make such guidelines a part of the
   calendar invite itself so that BOTH candidate and interviewer are aware what
   questions are acceptable and what's not.

   Who is your most trusted colleague at work? As a leader you can Level Up by
   purposefully developing deep mutual relationships with colleagues. It's great
   to be strong and self reliant, but many if not most of the best companies are
   formed by key partnerships. Gates had Paul Allen Jobs had Woz and then Tim
   Cook Larry and Sergey were a pair Hewlett and Packard Zuckerberg found Sheryl
   Sandberg Bezos had Jeff Wilke (and others) While the above is a list of
   famous founders, I see these kind of partnerships in executives and leaders
   of all levels. Andy Jassy, now CEO of Amazon, relied for a decade on Charlie
   Bell. Who is that person you can completely rely on? Over time I've had
   partnerships like this with several people. I was the "junior" half of the
   duo with Kimberly Wandel and Paul Ryder, and others. I was the senior half
   with Ameesh Paleja, Kamlesh Talreja, and David Markley, again among others. I
   benefited from these long term close relationships in both directions. The
   benefit is simple: when you are working with someone that you know and trust
   has your very best interests, your personal and professional good at heart,
   you can then focus freely on the work. Earn that trust through your actions.
