Here at unison we love this below quote from warren buffet, which summarizes pretty much what trade is all about. “Investing in yourself is the best thing you can do, and as a part of investing in yourself; you should learn more about money management.” – Warren Buffett CHECK OUT THE STOCK MARKET HERE: SPY Chart by TradingView And when Warren Buffet says investing in yourself is the best thing you can do, he does not mean buying expensive trading courses from people that may never have traded before, but rather from people that can prove their trading results with statements verified trading brokers. If you ever search online for any kind of trading course, and if you come across the word, “predicting” make sure you turn your computer off and never look at that website again. A lot of people in the industry of selling stock options trading courses and pretty much any type of trading courses, promises that they can teach you how to understand market direction so you know what direction to pick in order to make money. And I don’t want to kill your hopes, but I have some bad news for you, it is all scam people trying to sell you dreams, because nobody can and nobody will be able to pick any direction on the stock market. Trading is not about predicting anything, trading is all about having a very good and defined risk management. Stock options are not the type of investment that allows an inverter to see very fast and huge gains with a small investment and short period of time. If you think that is possible to turn Your account from $100 into Millions, you should not be involved in the stock market at all, no matter if it is options or directly buying stocks. Stock options trading is a very disciplined and patient type of trading with a very high risk management otherwise you will lose money period. Sometimes course sellers claims that you just need a small trading account to trade stock options in relation to trade stock directly, because of the potential of high returns that long option may offer to you, but guess what, i have another bad news for you, you may be able to win once, twice or even few times, but over time you will lose all your money due to the structure of long options. The best way to have a career and make money trading stock options is to follow the Warren Buffet method of trading options, which is the insurance model, and our stock option trading course is designed and built to do exactly that UNISON INSURANCE TRADING MODEL WITH THE LONG TERM VIEW We receive on a daily basis emails from students, regarding the stock market conditions right now ( we are talking January 2021, the time this article got updated). And the main questions on the emails are; * Do you think the market is overbought? * Are you selling any of your stocks in your portfolio? * Are you closing any of your options positions? * Are you thinking of placing a hedge? And do son … I always mentioned to all my students that nobody can time the market, so we need to avoid trying to be cool thinking that we can time the market Top or Bottom, because you, me and nobody else cannot do it. The best thing to do in my point of view, is to make sure we know our portfolio very well, and always try to hold fundamentally good business in our portfolio Because in the event of a market pullback, like 5, 10 or 15%, it wouldn’t matter for us, because these types of high quality businesses will tend to do better in the long term, or at least they will have a better chance to bounce back up. So, we need to stop thinking that we have anything special about us, that enables us to wake up every day 8 in the morning, and think that we can pull whatever amount of money we want out of the market, because this is just not possible, period. Nobody knows what is going to happen in the stock market today, tomorrow in a week, so the best thing to do is stay invested in a solid business, that no matter what happens to the company, the business will have a better change to recovery than an average business. Strategist and some of the so called professional’s, always find excuses for market pullback, and this type of approach doesn’t help us as an investor at all, because even a monkey knows that always will be catalyst to drop the market, but because nobody knows when that will happen, the information become useless. Sometimes we can see on YouTube, the usual suspects that we see all the time for the past 20 years, talking about stock market crashes, which you may know who I am talking about, and of course talking about something very obvious for the past 20 years, eventually one day they will get it right. And although some of you may say that the information may help us to be prepared, here at unison we completely disagree because in our case as a retails trader, spending like 5 to 10% a year in hedging potions is just not a viable approach to do. It is almost saying that it will rain, but not saying when it will rain. I call then, the genius of obvious. So, what i want to do in this post, is to share with you a piece of a CNBC show where the presenter asks one of the guess, what he thinks about the stock market condition right now, filmed on 23/01/21 So the best approach to do, like Steve says and I agree 100%, is to stay invested in solid business. Anyway, watch Steve Wiss answering the Halftime Host, when asked what he thinks about the stock market as some of the analysts are calling a possible pullback, and pay attention the amazing and brilliant answers that he gives to the questions, which I think it is one of the best answer for these genius people calling stock market correction, crash, recession, whatever for the past 20 years on YouTube. That’s why I always say that, when you trade options, the stock market future prices don’t matter, as long as you watch your position size with a robust risk management approach and with a long term view, not the BS of day trading. And if you hold stocks, the only way to make money, is the long term approach, period. By the way, this is just my opinion, but for all those people out there that are watching this video and thinking that you have anything special about you that can help you make money day trading, just put in your mind that Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger, are hundreds of years ahead of you in term of knowledge and everything else, and if anyone could make money day trading, don’t you think Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger would be doing it long time ago. We think that it is better to take your money and go to the casino and spend it with your friends and family so that you probably will have more fun with your money. Anyway, I know some of you reading this little article may say that these guys in the show, never get anything right, or the show is for entertainment only, which I agree at some point. But, we can do with the information’s whatever we like, nobody in the show is telling us to buy or sell stocks, so we are the only ones responsible to take the information’s contents present in the show and do our own collusions and make our own decisions. Anyway, here at unison we never trade out of anyone’s opinions but ours, so we think you can get what we mean. And we think Steve Weiss answer was an awesome answer in relation to the market being overbought or oversold in people’s eyes. So please watch the video below and let us know if you agree with his point of view, which we think is a great and spot on answer.
