PERROTIN - CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY


Founded in 1990 in Paris by Emmanuel Perrotin, at the age of 21, Perrotin is a
contemporary art gallery located on 3 continents. Since 2005, the Parisian
gallery has been located in an eighteenth century Hotel Particulier, on 76 rue
de Turenne, in Marais district. Perrotin has a presence in seven countries, with
the openings of Perrotin Hong Kong in May 2012, Perrotin New York in 2013,
Perrotin Seoul in 2016, Perrotin Tokyo in 2017, Perrotin Shanghai in 2018,
Perrotin Los Angeles in 2024. The Paris gallery grew with the Ballroom
acquisition in 2014, a showroom of 700 m2 (7,500 square feet) in the 17th
century Hotel d'Ecquevilly called "the Grand Veneur". The gallery extends over
more than 7,000 m2 (75,000 square feet)...

« My passion has always been to make artists’ projects possible. From the
beginning, I wanted to give young artists the opportunity to produce their work.
I founded my gallery at the age of 21, I have since opened 17 different spaces,
always with the aim of offering more and more stimulating devices to the
artists. » Emmanuel Perrotin, founder of the eponymous art gallery.

The gallery represents 68 artists and collaborates with 32 others: established
artists and estates, but also emerging artists of more than 27 different
nationalities.

The gallery organizes about 45 exhibitions a year, and partakes in about 20
international art fairs alongside art galleries from around the world. Perrotin
is driven by a team of 150 dynamic collaborators worldwide, including 3 partners
and over fifteen directors.

Over the past three decades, Perrotin has exhibited and supported contemporary
and modern artists through many collaborative projects. Perrotin has a strong
desire to organize cross-disciplinary programs, including conferences, workshops
for children, concerts and performances.

Besides the e-shop, the galleries in Paris, Hong Kong, New York, Seoul, Shanghai
and Los Angeles have their own bookshops that offers a wide selection of books
on the gallery's artists, as well as publications about contemporary painting,
contemporary sculpture, contemporary architecture, contemporary photography,
artist monographs, essays on art history, artifacts, posters, or postcards.
