PLOT[EDIT]

In the near future, a Japanese scientist creates a high-tech powered exoskeleton
called 'Infinite Stratos' (IS). Possessing technology and combat capabilities
far surpassing that of any other arms system, the IS threatens to destabilize
the world. Faced with such an overpowered weapon, the world's nations enact the
'Alaska Treaty', stating that IS shall never be used for military combat
purposes, and that the existing IS technology must be equally distributed to all
nations, to prevent any one nation from dominating the others. However, sometime
after the IS was introduced, the society undergone a drastic change. As IS can
only be operated by women, there is a shift in the power balance between men and
women, where women now dominate society over men.

Ten years after the IS was initially introduced, the world has entered a new age
of peace. However, a 15-year-old male Japanese teenager named Ichika Orimura
changes everything. During an accidental run-in with a hibernating IS suit, it
is revealed that he possesses the innate ability to operate an IS - the only
male in the world capable of doing so. Seeing his potential, the Japanese
government forcibly enrolls the bewildered young man to attend the prestigious
Infinite Stratos Academy, a multicultural academy where IS pilots from all over
the world are trained. Thus, he starts a busy high school life surrounded by
girls training to become expert IS pilots. While they seem to be enjoying their
thrilling school life, the danger of looming threats and enemies are never too
far away.

CHARACTERS[EDIT]

MAIN CHARACTERS[EDIT]

Ichika Orimura (織斑 一夏Orimura Ichika)Voiced by: Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese); Josh
Grelle[4] (English)Ichika is a first year student and class representative, as
well as Vice-President of the Student Council at IS Academy. His older sister,
Chifuyu, is a legendary IS pilot who raised him when the siblings' parents
abandoned them at a young age. During the second Mondo Grosso tournament, he was
kidnapped by the Phantom Task, that effectively causes Chifuyu to forfeit the
match to rescue him, to which he regrets for being a weak brother. As the first
male IS pilot, his new reputation has made him somewhat famous as many
scientists and engineers would like to study him. He is mainly absent minded and
oblivious to the feelings of the girls around him and seems to misunderstand
their feelings towards him (though he seems to understand Houki's words during
the second last episode of the first season when they almost kissed). Rumor has
it that Ichika is aware of the girls' feelings for him, but avoids such
affections due being the only male in school, and believes himself to have zero
talent for being a suitable man.He is a very kind person and he will go to great
lengths to achieve a goal he has set for himself. He pilots the Byakushiki (白式,
lit. White Expressions) IS,[5] a prototype, one of only two developed 4th
generation IS focused on short-range melee attacks. He also possesses Chifuyu's
Yukihira Type 2 (雪片弐型Yukihira Nigata), upgraded from the version used by his
sister; and Core Number 001, the very first IS core. Later on, Byakushiki
undergoes Second Shift shortly after Houki Shinonono acquires her personal unit,
Akatsubaki. In the resulting Second Shift form, named Byakushiki Setsura (白式雪羅),
it is equipped with a multi-function unit (A.I.) Setsura (雪羅), which has: a
high-caliber charged particle cannon, an energy claw for close-quarters combat,
and an energy shield with the One-Off ability. In its Second Shift, Byakushiki
also gains an increase in mobility through the addition of 4 large wing
thrusters, enabling it to execute Double Ignition Boost.[volume & issue needed]
In this Second Shift form, it, and Houki's Akatsubaki, are the most advanced IS
ever made.Houki Shinonono (篠ノ之 箒Shinonono Hōki)Voiced by: Yōko Hikasa
(Japanese); Monica Rial[4] (English)Houki is a first-year student at the IS
Academy and Ichika's childhood friend, though they have not seen each other for
six years.[6] She has a very long ponytail.[7] Her place of residence is home to
a kendodojo, which led to her early interest in kendo. Houki even competes in
kendo competitions at a national level, and was the winner of the national
tournament that was hosted one year before the story of Infinite Stratos
began.[8] She is part of the kendo club at the IS academy. Her older sister,
Tabane Shinonono, is the creator of the IS, though their relationship is
strained. Six years ago, Ichika agreed to become her boyfriend if she could win
the national kendo tournament of their grade. However, the day of the tournament
is also the day the IS was introduced to the world. Due to the familial links to
Tabane, Houki's family is placed under government protection and Houki is forced
to withdraw from the kendo tournament. Since that incident, Houki resents her
sister for moving her away from Ichika and abandoning their family.Despite not
seeing him for a long time, Houki still harbors strong feelings of love for
Ichika, as her continuing practice of kendo was her only link to him. She was
his initial roommate before the arrivals of Charlotte Dunois and Tatenashi
Sarashiki, and tends to get jealous when other girls are around him. Originally
not possessing a personal IS, in Volume 3 she receives and pilots the Akatsubaki
(紅椿, lit. Red Camellia) IS from Tabane, one of only two developed 4th generation
IS and a short-range melee-class IS, armed with twin katana named Amatsuki (雨月,
'Rainy Moon') and Karaware (空裂, 'Cracked Sky'). The Akatsubaki has a One-Off
ability called Kenran Butō (絢爛舞踏, 'Magnificent Dance'), which allows Houki to
replenish both her own and other IS's energy when she comes in contact with
them. However, because she is still unskilled as a pilot and her compatibility
with the IS is only at grade C, she is still considered to be on the same level
of the other girls. As of Volume 7, her compatibility has risen to grade
S.Cecilia Alcott (セシリア・オルコットSeshiria Orukotto)Voiced by: Yukana (Japanese);
Brittney Karbowski[4] (English)Cecilia is a first year student at the IS Academy
and is an IS Cadet Representative of the United Kingdom. Her family is part of
the British aristocracy. Her father, a spoiled and timid man who had little
influence both inside and outside the Alcott family, makes her swear to never
marry a weak man (a difficulty due to the shift in social status). Upon losing
her parents in a deadly train accident when she is 12 years old, Cecilia is
forced to protect her family fortune from those who wish to claim a stake of it.
After showing high IS aptitude, she makes a deal with the British government,
who, in exchange for protecting her family's assets, wants her to go to the IS
Academy as a Cadet Representative to gather data for their latest 3rd-generation
model. She was almost defeated by Ichika for the position of class
representative but won due to a technicality, but later cedes her position to
Ichika. She soon starts to see him as a true man and falls in love with him. She
pilots the Blue Tears (ブルー・ティアーズBurū Tiāzu) IS, a long-range sniper-class IS,
which can deploy four remotely controlled 'drones' (B.I.T.S. System) for
engaging enemies at medium range. The Blue Tears IS is also equipped with the
Starlight Mark III (スターライトmkIIISutāraito Māku Surī), a large laser rifle, and
Interceptor (インターセプターIntāseputā), a short blade used for close-range combat. In
the anime, Blue Tears is shown to also have a pair of rocket launchers attached
to the hips, in place of two other Blue Tears shown in the light novels, used at
close to long-range on different occasions.Lingyin Huang (凰 鈴音Huáng Língyīn,
'Rin Fan') in the English dubVoiced by: Asami Shimoda (Japanese); Hilary Haag[4]
(English)Lingyin is a first year student at the IS Academy, the class
representative of her class and is an IS Cadet Representative of China. As with
Houki Shinonono, Lingyin has been friends with Ichika Orimura since their early
childhood. She has been in love with Ichika ever since he protected her against
four school delinquents. Lingyin at first becomes extremely hostile to Ichika
after he forgets the details of a promise they made as kids (in which it was
implied; although not explicitly stated, that if she became an excellent cook,
he would become her boyfriend). She is also called 'Ling' (鈴Rin, 'Rin' in the
English dub). Her family ran a Chinese restaurant that Ichika would often eat at
before Ling's parents divorced and she moved back to China. She pilots the
Shenlong (Shinryū, 神竜lit. Spirit Dragon) a short-to-medium-range melee-type IS
armed with the Ryuhou (龍砲lit. Dragon Cannon), powerful 'Impact Cannons' hidden
in the shoulder armor. It is also armed with the Sōten Gagetsu (双天牙月), a pair of
liuyedao that can be connected to form a naginata-like weapon.Charlotte Dunois
(シャルロット・デュノアSharurotto Dyunoa)Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa (Japanese); Shannon
Emerick[4] (English)Charlotte is a first year student at the IS Academy and is
an IS Cadet Representative of France. Charlotte initially calls herself Charles
Dunois (シャルル・デュノアSharuru Dunoa), posing as the second 'male' IS pilot student
that was transferred into Ichika's class. However, her plan is to spy on Ichika,
discover how he is able to pilot an IS and acquire data from his IS (which at
the time was considered the most advanced 3rd-generation unit). Because she
enrolls as a male IS pilot, she is paired with Ichika as roommates since they
are 'both' guys. As a result of this arrangement, Ichika later discovers her
true gender when he inadvertently walks in on her showering. Upon learning that
Charlotte's father and his corporation used her to spy on him, Ichika decides to
help protect her. She later falls in love with Ichika due to his bravery. She
pilots the Rafale Revive Custom II (ラファール・リヴァイヴ・カスタムIIRafāru Revaivu Kasutamu
Tsū) IS, a 2nd-generation custom multi-range IS possessing a wide array of
interchangeable weapons allowing for fast battlefield adaptation and capable of
performing the Ignition Boost. Her weapons, once called upon, can be used by
another IS pilot as long as she grants permission. Due to her training to make
her a convincing male prior to her entry to the IS Academy, Charlotte uses
'boku' (an informal male equivalent of 'I') when referring to herself. Following
the Silver Gospel Incident in later novels, Charlotte becomes Laura's
roommate.Laura Bodewig (ラウラ・ボーデヴィッヒRaura Bōdevihhi)Voiced by: Marina Inoue
(Japanese); Tiffany Grant[4] (English)Laura is a first-year student at the IS
Academy and an IS Cadet Representative of Germany. A genetically-engineered
super-soldier, Laura is the commander of the German IS special forces, Schwarzer
Hase (シュヴァルツェア・ハーゼShuvarutsea Hāze, German for 'Black Rabbit'). She has a red
eye and long silver hair; but her most distinct feature being a black eyepatch
covering her glowing-yellow left eye, the result of a failed nano-machine
experiment meant to help her pilot an IS better. Laura was under Chifuyu's
tutelage when the latter was an instructor for the German army following the 2nd
Mondo Grosso, and holds Chifuyu in high regard for helping her and was her role
model when she suffered a depression for not being the strongest.[9] Her current
name is actually a code name given to her by the German military, as she was
artificially created from human DNA. She has an elder sister, Chloe Chronicle,
who is capable of infiltrating a person's mind through virtual reality via
manipulate the modules around them.Laura pilots the Schwarzer Regen
(「シュヴァルツェア・レーゲンShuvarutsea Rēgen, German for 'Black Rain') IS, a
medium-to-long-range artillery-type IS. The Schwarzer Regen possess several
remotely guided tethers, which Laura uses to capture and restrain her opponents
while she attacks them with a slow-firing but extremely powerful railgun. The
Schwarzer Regen also possesses an 'Active Inertial Canceller' (AIC), which can
be used to stop the movement of projectiles and even another IS. While a very
powerful defense, the canceller can only be used against one target at a time,
and is only effective at very close range.Laura's original purpose for coming to
the IS Academy is to punish Ichika, whom she blames for his sister withdrawing
from the 2nd Mondo Grosso (unaware that Ichika was kidnapped at the time and
Chifuyu withdrew in order to save him). She initially defeats Ling and Cecilia
but struggles in the tournament against the pair of Ichika and Charlotte, as
they had planned their attacks beforehand (unlike Laura, who does not excel with
allies). After Charlotte beats her during the class tournament, the dormant
VT-System within Laura's IS activates, causing her to go berserk. She is then
stopped by Ichika, who also calms and console her in the Inter-IS subspace.
After consoling her in the subspace, she realizes what Chifuyu sees in him and
falls in love with him. Upon learning Ichika's strength is his freedom to choose
and helping those around him and Chifuyu's advice, Laura decides to become
Ichika's bodyguard to protect him against the other girls by kissing him in
front of his class and professes that he is her 'wife', a misunderstanding of
her knowledge of Japanese culture, and she will not accept any
objections.Tatenashi Sarashiki (更識 楯無Sarashiki Tatenashi)Voiced by: Chiwa Saitō
(Japanese); Jessica Calvello (English)Tatenashi is the Student Council President
of the IS Academy, as well as the 17th leader of the Sarashiki Family and the IS
Representative of Russia. The long history of her traditional family, it's
actually a secret organization that's been protesting Phantom Task for over 50
years. She is the Academy's most powerful IS pilot (the position of Student
Council President is only given to the strongest IS Academy student). She is
assigned to protect Ichika after the Silver Gospel incident and used her
position as president to become Ichika's roommate (much to Houki's jealousy).
Tatenashi likes to flirt with Ichika, teasing him with her body and making him
uncomfortable most of the time. She asked for his help in getting her younger
sister, Kanzashi's, IS operational in time for the school competition.
Afterwards, she may have developed feelings for him. She is the pilot of the
Mysterious Lady (ミステリアス・レイディMisuteriasu Reidi) IS. At the end of Volume 8, she
reveals her true name Katana Sarashiki (更識 刀奈Sarashiki Katana) to Ichika,
indicating some affection has grown between them.Kanzashi Sarashiki (更識
簪Sarashiki Kanzashi)Voiced by: Suzuko Mimori (Japanese); Kira Vincent-Davis[10]
(English)Kanzashi is Tatenashi's younger sister and the IS Representative of
Japan. Kanzashi is a fan of anime heroes. Despite being an IS Representative,
she does not have a personal IS. The company that was developing her personal IS
also produced the Byakushiki. Due to Ichika's rise in fame, the development of
his IS unit was given priority over hers, and as a result, she harbors a
resentment towards Ichika, not that he had anything to do with the decision. In
addition, Kanzashi has always competed against her older sister and feels
incompetent when compared to her. However, thanks to Ichika's efforts (unaware
of Tatenashi's assistance until later), her IS the Uchigane Nishiki
(打鉄弐式Uchigane Nishiki) is made operational. Kanzashi falls in love with Ichika
for his kindness in helping her, and her view towards Tatenashi changes when she
realizes that she has been competing with an idealized conception of Tatenashi
and comes to be more accepting of her own accomplishments.

IS ACADEMY STAFF[EDIT]

Chifuyu Orimura (織斑 千冬Orimura Chifuyu)Voiced by: Megumi Toyoguchi (Japanese);
Luci Christian[4] (English)Chifuyu is Ichika's 24-year-old older sister, and
homeroom teacher of his class at the Academy. She was the Japanese pilot for the
first-generation IS machines and was said to be the strongest IS pilot at one
point before retiring. During her retirement, she looked after her brother and
raised him by herself after their parents abandoned them at a young age. Despite
her indifference towards Ichika, Chifuyu deeply cares for her brother, as she
sees him as her only family. Chifuyu was also the one who enrolled Ichika to the
IS Academy to keep him safe from other countries. Chifuyu once wielded Yukihira,
a powerful IS energy blade now in Ichika's possession. Chifuyu was a close
friend of Tabane Shinonono, which explains how their younger siblings became
childhood friends. Tabane also implies (heavily) that Chifuyu piloted the 'White
Knight' (白騎士Shirokishi)–the first ever developed IS that protected Japan from a
massive missile attack 10 years prior to the series. Her IS currently is called
the Kurezakura.Maya Yamada (山田 真耶Yamada Maya)Voiced by: Noriko Shitaya
(Japanese); Cynthia Martinez[4] (English)Yamada is the substitute instructor of
Ichika's class, possessing a noticeably large bust. She used to be an IS
Representative Cadet of Japan. In the anime, her skills become very apparent, as
during a training exercise she was able to single-handedly defeat both Cecilia
and Lingyin, in their personal IS units, using only a mass-produced Rafale
Revive IS.

OTHER CHARACTERS[EDIT]

Tabane Shinonono (篠ノ之 束Shinonono Tabane)Voiced by: Yukari Tamura (Japanese);
Allison Keith[4] (English)Tabane is Houki's older sister and the creator of the
IS. She mysteriously disappeared after introducing the IS technology, and is
currently the most wanted person in the world as many seek her for her knowledge
about it. She is a close friend of Chifuyu, Ichika's older sister. Houki resents
being related to her, due to what happened to their family and Ichika six years
ago, and has hated her since. Tabane and Chifuyu's connections, is the reason
Ichika and Houki became childhood friends. Despite her normally cheerful nature,
she has a condescending view towards outsiders and strangers and will often
treat anybody besides Chifuyu, Houki, and Ichika with disdain. Tabane has a
thing for rabbits, hence the metal bunny ears on her head and the carrot pod she
arrived in to give Houki her IS. During a conversation with Chifuyu she admits
to having initially reprogrammed the first IS to be compatible for Ichika,
however she doesn't know how the Byakushiki moves while Ichika is piloting it.
She is shown to be very proficient in combat when she easily held her own
against three members of Phantom Task.Clarissa Harfouch (クラリッサ・ハルフォーフKurarissa
Harufōfu)Voiced by: Kei Mizusawa (Japanese); Shannon Emerick (English)Clarissa
is Laura's comrade and the deputy commander of Schwarzer Hase. Like Laura, she
also wears an eyepatch. An Otaku, Clarissa teaches Laura about Japanese culture
through anime and manga (which is, even in reality, not very accurate). She is
the pilot of the IS Schwarzer Zweig (シュヴァルツェア・ツヴァイクShuvarutsea Tsuvaiku, German
for 'Black Branch').Natasha Fairs (ナターシャ・ファイルスNatāsha Fairusu)Natasha is the IS
Representative Cadet of the United States. In the novels, she was the test pilot
for the Silver Gospel (銀の福音(シルバリオ・ゴスペル)Shirubario Gosuperu), an IS co-built with
Israel, before she loses control of it when it goes berserk. It is only when the
intervention by Ichika and the rest of his comrades are they able to stop the
Silver Gospel. As gratitude for saving her life, Natasha kisses Ichika on the
cheek as thanks, much to the anger of the girls.Dan Gotanda (五反田 弾Gotanda
Dan)Voiced by: Makoto Yasumura (Japanese); Christopher Ayres[4] (English)Dan is
a close friend of Ichika's back from middle school. He is often threatened (and
sometimes beaten) by his younger sister, Ran. Dan is also the only other notable
male character besides Ichika in the series.Ran Gotanda (五反田 蘭Gotanda Ran)Voiced
by: Noriko Obato (Japanese); Luci Christian[4] (English)Ran is Dan's younger
sister. She is currently in her third year of middle school and is the student
council president. Ran apparently has a crush on Ichika. She plans to enroll at
the IS academy, after revealing that she ranked A on an IS aptitude test.[11] A
few of the other girls such as Lingyin already see her as a rival for Ichika's
affection.

PHANTOM TASK[EDIT]

Madoka Orimura (織斑 マドカOrimura Madoka)Voiced by: Ai Kayano (Japanese); Luci
Christian (English)Madoka is Chifuyu's younger sister and Ichika's twin sister
who has a striking resemblance to Chifuyu and harbors a grudge against her
(possibly something having to do with their separation), and is a primary
antagonist of the series. It is revealed, Madoka is a member of the Phantom Task
organization, under the codename: M. She pilots the Silent Zephyrs, a 3rd
generation IS stolen from England and based on Cecilia's Blue Tears. It appears
to be more advanced than its predecessor. She later pilots the 'Black Knight'
that was given to her by Tabane for unknown reasons.Squall Meusel
(スコール・ミューゼルSukōru Myūzeru)Voiced by: Fumi Hirano (Japanese); Carli Mosier
(English)Squall is the leader of Phantom Task. Not much is known about her. She
combines with an unusual IS called the Golden Dawn, its generation is unknown.
Squall has enough confidence in her skills, and is a highly trained and
dangerous fighter with incredible reflexes. She usually displays herself as
polite, and ladylike in front of other. While she can be very ruthless when she
want to be and doesn't mind using force, but doesn't like overdoing unnecessary
things when she order Madoka not to kill the soldiers at the American base. Her
main objective seems to collect data on Ichika's Byakushiki (in White Knight
form) for a purpose yet to be revealed.

INFINITE STRATOS 2 EPISODE 1

Autumn (オータムŌtamu)Voiced by: Yuka Nishigaki (Japanese); Shelley Calene-Black
(English)Autumn is a rash, hot headed member who fought with Ichika during the
IS academy's anniversary and almost succeeded in stealing the Byakushiki, with a
device called the 'Remover', only to fail at the last minute when Tatenashi
interfered. She pilots the Arachne, an eight-legged 2nd generation IS that was
stolen from the USA. She is hinted to have a homosexual relationship with
Squall, uncharacteristically blushing like a little girl upon seeing Squall.

OTHERS[EDIT]

Honne Nohotoke (布仏 本音Nohotoke Honne)Voiced by: Mai Kadowaki (Japanese); Monica
Passley (English)Kiyoka Aikawa (相川 清香Aikawa Kiyoka)Voiced by: Arise Satō
(Japanese); Allison Sumrall (English)

MEDIA[EDIT]

LIGHT NOVELS[EDIT]

Infinite Stratos began as a light novel series written by Izuru Yumizuru, with
illustrations provided by Okiura.[12] The first volume was published by Media
Factory under their MF Bunko J label on May 31, 2009. As of April 25, 2018,
twelve volumes have been released.[13]

Due to conflict between the publisher (Media Factory) and the author,
publication of the light novels was under suspension.[14][15] Later, the author
confirmed that he is simultaneously writing a new work and continuing Infinite
Stratos through Kodansha.[16] The novels are now being published by Overlap
under their Overlap Bunko imprint, with CHOCO replacing Okiura as illustrator.
Reprints of the first seven volumes begun on April 25, 2013, starting with the
first two volumes.[17]

The series will end in the 13th volume.[18]

The light novels are being translated into traditional Chinese and the first
volume was published and released by Sharp Point Press[19] on November 9, 2010.
The Chinese translations of the light novels were originally under an indefinite
suspension.[20] Yumizuru cited that Media Factory's overseas representatives
were engaging in contracts with foreign publishers without the author's
permission as the reason for the suspension.[20] Yumizuru had also stated that
he was willing to fight over this matter in court if necessary.[20]

On February 27, 2018, J-Novel Club announced it had licensed and begun
translating the series into English.[21]

2011Ichika Orimura begins to attend the Infinite Stratos (IS) Academy. As the
first male in the world to ever pilot an IS, he becomes an instant sensation
among the all-female students of the academy. With his homeroom teacher being
his older sister Chifuyu Orimura, assisted by substitute instructor Maya Yamada,
Ichika is uneasy and unprepared as he tries to get used to the academy. He later
learns that his dorm roommate is his childhood friend, kendo champion Houki
Shinonono, whom he has not seen in six years. When his class decides to elect
him as their class representative, Cecilia Alcott, a British IS pilot, objects
and challenges him to a duel for the position.22'Class Representative Selection

2011Chifuyu tells Ichika that he will be provided with his own personal IS for
his match against Cecilia, a rarity since only 467 IS Cores were created by
Tabane Shinonono, Houki's older sister, before she disappeared. To prepare,
Houki agrees to train Ichika by practicing kendo brutally. On the day of the
match, Ichika is given the Byakushiki to fight against Cecilia in the Blue
Tears. At first, Cecilia has the advantage due to her sniper abilities. Ichika
eventually manages to transform his IS into First Shift, pulling out his energy
sword. However, using the energy sword quickly depletes his shield energy, and
it runs out just as Ichika is about to land a strike on Cecilia. The match is
declared over with Cecilia as the winner. After losing, Ichika agrees to train
more with Houki. On the other hand, even though she technically won, Cecilia
becomes unsure of herself.33'The Transfer Student is the Second Childhood

21, 2011Cecilia takes a liking with Ichika and gives the position of class
representative to him instead, much to Houki's dismay. The next day, Ichika
meets Lingyin Huang, the new transfer student from China who also happens to be
his childhood friend as well as the class representative of her class. After
Ichika and Lingyin get reacquainted with each other, Houki and Cecilia get
jealous. Upon learning that Houki is Ichika's roommate, Lingyin tries to get
Houki to let her become his roommate instead, to which Houki refuses. Lingyin
later leaves in anger after Ichika fails to figure out the childhood promise
that they had made in the past, as she wants to settle it in a class league
match of the IS tournament. With his match against Lingyin with her Shenlong
soon approaching, Ichika prepares himself.44'The Class League Match'

but they are interrupted when a mysterious IS attacks the arena. As Ichika and
Lingyin hold off the IS so the audience can escape, they soon realize that the
IS is an unmanned drone called a Golem due to its mechanical behavior. Together
with Cecilia, the three of them manage to defeat the Golem, but not before it
injures Ichika. As Ichika recovers while Lingyin watches over him, Ichika
wonders if the promise that he made with Lingyin had a different meaning, in
which the latter quickly denies. Meanwhile, Chifuyu and Maya examine the
defeated Golem and confirm that it is an unmanned drone with a unique IS Core
apart from the other 467 IS Cores that the world actually has, leading them to
question who would make such a thing.55'Boy Meets Boy'

acts dense when Houki is allowed the chance to have her own room. As she leaves
in anger, she makes him promise to go out with her should she win the next
tournament, which then spreads into a rumor that the winner of the tournament
would score a date with Ichika. At the same time, a transfer student, who is a
male French IS pilot named Charles Dunois, arrives and becomes Ichika's new
roommate. During a training session, Chifuyu has Cecilia and Lingyin battle
against Maya in the Rafale Revive Basic, though Cecilia and Lingyin are easily
defeated despite them piloting the more advanced models. During lunch, as the
girls share their food with Ichika, he declares that Houki's food tastes the
best, much to the dismay of Cecilia and Lingyin. The next day, it is a surprise
to the class when Laura Bodewig, who is a transfer student from Germany and an
acquaintance of Chifuyu, arrives. Laura immediately walks up to Ichika, slaps
him and says that she is unable to accept him as Chifuyu's brother.66'My

Rafale Revive Custom II, the former declines a fight challenged by Laura. On his
way to his dorm room, Ichika spots Chifuyu refusing to comply with Laura, who
begs Chifuyu to return Germany and says that the academy is unsuitable for her
teaching status. It is revealed that when Ichika was kidnapped during the Second
Mondo Grosso of the IS championship, Chifuyu forfeited the finals to rescue her
brother. Ichika later walks in on Charles in the shower, discovering that
Charles is actually a girl. Charles explains that her family corporation had
entered a financial crisis due to the demand for the third generation models,
and she was ordered to act as a boy to give the company publicity and eventually
steal data from these models. Ichika decides to keep this a secret on behalf of
her safety due to diplomatic immunity of the academy if Charles stays for a few
more years. Meanwhile, Laura, who blames Ichika for blemishing his sister's
record, removes her eyepatch to display her golden left eye as she swears
revenge on him.77'Blue Days ~ Red Switch'

would score a date with him. As Cecilia and Lingyin prepare to spar, Laura
appears in the Schwarzer Regen and goads them into a two-on-one battle,
effortlessly countering all their attacks. When she continues to beat the two at
the risk of their lives, Ichika and Charles step in to the rescue before Chifuyu
reveals that the duel will be settled in another tournament. It is soon
announced that the tournament will be conducted in pairs, with Ichika choosing
Charles as his partner. On the day of the tournament, it is decided via lottery
that Houki is to be paired up with Laura in a class league match against Ichika
and Charles.88'Find Out My Mind'

25, 2011Laura focuses on fighting Ichika while she tosses aside Houki, who is

Laura's shield energy to defeat her, despite Ichika depleting all of his. With
her defeat imminent, Laura reminisce her past of being a failed genetically
engineered soldier, until her first meeting with Chifuyu. However, Laura resents
Ichika upon learning that Chifuyu has shown her softer side because of him.
Refusing to lose, a berserk Laura transforms into a dark IS. Charles transfers
her remaining shield energy to Ichika, allowing him to manifest his energy
sword. He strikes the dark IS and frees Laura. After Laura recovers, Chifuyu
explains what caused her IS to go berserk, then consoles her to choose her own
path. Despite the tournament being canceled, Ichika decides to date Houki. Later
at the newly opened male public bath, Charles tells Ichika that she will stay at
the academy under her true name, Charlotte Dunois. When the class learns the
truth about Charlotte, an angry Lingyin arrives to punish Ichika. However, Laura
intervenes and kisses Ichika in front of the class, declaring him to be his
wife, which leaves everyone else in shock.99'Ocean's Eleven!'

by Houki, Ichika goes with Charlotte to the mall to buy swimsuits for the
upcoming beach study session while Cecilia, Lingyin and Laura stalks them. When
Charlotte notices them following her, she hides with Ichika in the dressing room
to show off her swimsuit, but they are eventually discovered by Chifuyu and Maya
instead. During the beach study session, each of the girls tries to get close
with Ichika, but their efforts somehow backfire. The students and staff then
enjoy a game of beach volleyball. As sunset arrives, Chifuyu talks with Houki
about Tabane and believes her sister will come with the Akatsubaki on the
seventh day of July.1010'Thin Red Line'

gives them some advice. The next day, Tabane arrives to personally deliver the
Akatsubaki, a fourth generation model with abilities far more advanced than the
other models, and Houki gives it a test run. However, Chifuyu soon receives news
from Maya that an unmanned IS called the Silver Gospel has gone out of control.
After assessing the situation, Chifuyu orders the group to stop it, while Ichika
and Houki will pursue it, as only they would be fast enough to catch up with the
Silver Gospel.1111'Get Ready'
Transcription: 'Getto Redi' (Japanese: ゲット・レディ)March 25, 2011[n 1]As Ichika and
Houki begin their operation, the others notice how happy Houki looks, which
prompts Chifuyu to tell Ichika to watch over her carefully. As Ichika and Houki
engage in battle with the Silver Gospel and are about to corner it, Ichika
notices an illegal fishing ship in the area and breaks off formation to protect
it. Houki is angry at Ichika for ruining the plan, but he scolds her for
disregarding the safety of the ship, which is something she never does. However,
the Silver Gospel launches a surprise attack on them, which forces Ichika to
protect Houki by shielding her with himself. As the critically injured Ichika is
admitted, Houki blames herself on what happened and wants to quit being an IS
pilot. Cecilia, Lingyin, Charlotte and Laura manage to convince her otherwise.
Together, they ignore Chifuyu's orders to stand by and go after the Silver
Gospel themselves.1212'Your Name Is'

girls fight the Silver Gospel, Ichika has a dream where he accepts power from a
young girl and a warrior woman, driven from his desire to protect his comrades.
Houki cuts one of the wings off the Silver Gospel as it falls into the ocean,
but it reemerges with angel wings and takes down the girls. Houki is soon
awakened by Ichika in the Byakushiki Setsura, its Second Shift, and he gives her
a hair ribbon as a birthday gift. With their combined strength, Ichika and the
girls finally destroy the Silver Gospel, with Ichika giving the finishing blow.
As they return to their hotel, Chifuyu lectures them for defying orders, but
allows them some rest and recuperation as a reward. At a seaside cliff before
Tabane vanishes, Chifuyu realizes that Tabane not only coincidentally allowed
Ichika to be the only male pilot in the academy, but Tabane also hacked the
Silver Gospel to go berserk in order to debut the Akatsubaki. At the beach,
Houki apologizes to Ichika for his injuries and admits her feelings for him. As
Ichika attempts to kiss Houki, they are interrupted by the other girls, forcing
Ichika to carry Houki to safety.13OVA'A Sextet Yearns to Be in Love'

Ichika at his house is somewhat ruined when Cecilia gets the same idea, later
followed by Houki, Lingyin and Laura. They spend the afternoon playing games and
cooking. The next day, Houki helps out at a summer festival being held at her
family's shrine and is surprised when Ichika shows up. Her time alone with
Ichika is soon ruined by the appearance of Ran Gotanda, who momentarily has been
separated by her brother Dan Gotanda. Later, Houki attempts to confess her
feelings to Ichika, but is instead drowned out by the fireworks. Houki holds

swimsuit. After she suggests for the two of them to go a new water park, she
storms out in anger when he plans to invite the other girls. Laura decides to go
shopping with Charlotte Dunois at a mall, where they end up becoming models in a
clothing store and heroines in a hostage situation while working at the maid
cafe. Charlotte and Laura enjoy eating crêpes afterwards. Meanwhile, a female
code-named 'M' infiltrates a heavily guarded facility in England to retrieve a
confined IS using the Silent Zephyrs, an extremely powerful IS. Ichika and the
girls have a fun time at the water park, despite him being blamed for presumably
inviting each of them on a date. They go down on a couples water slide and
participate in the summer festival. They close by lighting sparklers, which
marks the end of summer vacation. At the same time, Chifuyu Orimura and Maya
Yamada check on an incident involving a new IS.152'Heart Pain Killer'

2013After sparring with Lingyin Huang, Ichika runs late to class, where Chifuyu
commands Charlotte to shoot him indirectly as punishment. After Ichika
officially meets student council president Tatenashi Sarashiki at the school
assembly, Laura suggests that the class should do a maid cafe as a fundraiser
for the upcoming school festival. Unwilling to receive Tatenashi as an
instructor, Ichika challenges her to a match, only for him to be defeated.
Dreaming upon the grasslands, Ichika appears to see Houki Shinonono before
awaking in Tatenashi's lap and dodging Laura's surprise attack. Tatenashi takes
Ichika to train in circle rondo formation with Cecilia Alcott and Charlotte.
Later on, Tatenashi coaches Ichika to practice the circle rondo formation by
flying around a red orb at high speeds, but he ends up crashing into the wall.
While having dinner, Houki, Cecilia, Lingyin, Charlotte and Laura all try to
comfort Ichika, but he falls asleep from exhaustion.163'Translucent Chord of

massage, much to his dismay. Later during the school festival, Lingyin stops by
the maid cafe, where Ichika serves as the butler. She orders a wineglass filled
with chocolate sticks which includes a special, wherein she gets to personally
feed Ichika, but she slaps him and leaves in embarrassment after he says that
she eats like a cute squirrel. An IS expansion saleswoman named Reiko Makigami
makes Ichika uncomfortable when she asks him to try on her company's equipment.
As Ichika goes on break, Cecilia takes him to the brass band exhibition, but
Cecilia blows her chance of getting an indirect kiss with a French horn.
Tatenashi forces Ichika into being the prince of the student council's rendition
of Cinderella, but he is unaware that whoever gets his crown receives the right
to live with him. Under constant fire against the girls, Ichika manages to
survive the absurdity of a play, which involves running from booby traps set by
Tatenashi, only to be pursued by the walk-in contestants. Ichika is dragged
under stage in the locker room by Reiko, who desires to steal the
Byakushiki.174'The Mysterious Lady'

unleashes the Arachne, revealing herself to be Autumn from the underground
organization Phantom Task. After detaining Ichika, Autumn reveals that it was
Phantom Task who abducted Ichika during the Second Mondo Grosso while she
forcibly attempts to take the Byakushiki. Cecilia and Lingyin engage M using the
Silent Zephyrs in the sky, while Tatenashi uses the Mysterious Lady, equipped
with water manipulated by nanomachines, to engage Autumn in the locker room. As
Ichika pursues Autumn outside, he is intercepted by M, who successfully deters
him. M and Autumn retreat before Houki, Charlotte and Laura join in the fight.
Maya briefs Chifuyu that the Silent Zephyrs was the second Blue Tears stolen
from England, while Chifuyu states that Tatenashi's true objective was to train
and safeguard Ichika. In an unknown location, Autumn berates M for her
interference, but they are intervened by Squall Meusel, leader of Phantom Task.
M awaits her revenge while staring at a locket containing a photo of Chifuyu.
Tatenashi not only tells Ichika about her purpose of protecting him, but also
the ulterior motive behind the prince's crown, which she now
possesses.185'Lovely Style'

while performing a Japanese tea ceremony to him, then Cecilia plays nine-ball
with him while wearing a Playboy Bunny costume. Charlotte serves Ichika some
cookies while dressed as a French poodle, but she is disqualified for going
overboard. Laura wears a Playboy Bunny costume as well and plays darts with him,
but he ends up with her one-piece swimsuit as a prize. Tatenashi appears to join
the party and teases Ichika wearing a cat suit, only turning into a brief fiasco
with Lingyin. After Chifuyu serves him a sundae while dressed as a maid, it is
revealed that all of this was part of a surprise birthday party prepared for
him. When Maya asks Ichika to choose which girl provided the best service, he
chooses Chifuyu instead, causing the girls to angrily attack him for his
stupidity. Afterwards, Ichika is approached by M, who introduces herself as
Madoka Orimura and shoots him off screen.196'The Secret Base'

2013Laura arrives in time to protect Ichika, causing Madoka to flee in
retaliation. Some time later, Ichika offers to assist Charlotte in escorting IS
equipment at a port, but they are faced against two IS pilots armed with rifles.
One of the IS pilots causes an explosion, wherein Ichika shields Charlotte from
the blast. However, Ichika is advised to confiscate the Byakushiki back at the
academy due to a detected abnormality. Charlotte finds herself in a predicament
when her underwear vanishes mysteriously, thus she is forced to keep quiet and
prevent Ichika from finding out. Houki, Cecilia and Lingyin manage to have
Charlotte reveal the truth about the situation with the Byakushiki, resulting in
the three of them fighting for the right to become Ichika's bodyguard. Tatenashi
interrupts to reprimand the three for causing a commotion inside the school.
Just when Charlotte decides to reveal her predicament to Ichika, Laura appears
and confirms that Charlotte's underwear returned, as both detected abnormalities
have now subsided. Back at their room, Laura points out to Charlotte that all
her troubles could have been averted if she had worn bloomers instead of
panties, much to her chagrin.207'Sisters'
Transcription: 'Shisutāzu' (Japanese: シスターズ)November 15, 2013Tatenashi watches
over her younger sister, Kanzashi Sarashiki, who is feeling gloomy since her
personal IS, the Uchigane Nishiki, was delayed due to the development company
focusing on the Byakushiki. Ichika and Houki are invited by newspaper club vice
president Kaoruko Mayuzumi to be put on exclusive magazines for personal IS
pilots, using dinner tickets as bribery. The two then have an personal interview
and an intimate photo shoot hosted by Kaoruko's older sister Nagisako Mayuzumi.
Wondering about Madoka, Ichika later asks Chifuyu if they have any other
sisters, but she says that he is her only family. With a tag match tournament
coming up, Lingyin and Charlotte try to butter him up with food, figuring out
what type of partner he would choose. Tatenashi entrusts Kanzashi to Ichika for
the upcoming tag match tournament. He rejects Laura, which brings Houki and
Cecilia to assume that he would partner with one of them. As Ichika tries to
approach Kanzashi, she turns down the proposal in anger instead.218'Open Your

Transcription: 'Ōpun Yua Hāto' (Japanese: オープン・ユア・ハート)November 22, 2013Ichika is
slapped by Kanzashi when he becomes persistent to be her partner. He later finds
it difficult to look up on maintenance assistance for the Uchigane Nishiki
because Kanzashi assembled it herself. Upon realizing that Ichika insists on
pairing with Kanzashi for the tag match tournament, the girls take their time
training more aggressively. As Tatenashi devises Houki to team up with her, she
analyzes Houki's physical maneuver, surprisingly to learn that her aptitude is
up to level S already. Kanzashi takes the Uchigane Nishiki for a test run, but
it malfunctions. Ichika saves her before she crashes, giving her a change of
heart towards Ichika as she indirectly agrees to be his partner. Ichika shares
data from the Byakushiki to help improve the Uchigane Nishiki, and has the
maintenance students gladly help. Returning to his dorm room, Tatenashi insists
upon Ichika for another massage, telling him that Chifuyu is so strict on him
because she cares about him. Hoping to give Ichika a bag of muffins as a gift,
Kanzashi reaches his door only to overhear that Ichika's generous offer was
Tatenashi's idea, leaving her heartbroken.229'The Requirements for a Hero'

searches for Kanzashi, who starts developing the fear of incompetence. Tatenashi
announces the tag match tournament at the opening ceremony. However, the arena
is suddenly raided by five advanced Golems. Ichika and Kanzashi take on a Golem,
while Houki and Tatenashi charge against another Golem. Tatenashi fails to
penetrate its armor, causing an explosion and rendering her weak. This enrages
Kanzashi to fight the Golem until her weapon power is depleted. Kanzashi feels
hopeless until she is then protected by Tatenashi, who ends up gravely injured.
Deep within her subconsciousness, Kanzashi is encouraged by Ichika and Tatenashi
to never run away and always accept her weaknesses. After Houki replenishes
Ichika's shield energy, Kanzashi uses Tatenashi's aqua crystal as a good luck
charm, allowing them to destroy all five Golems. Recuperating in the infirmary,
Tatenashi contemplates how reliable Ichika can be, as she and Kanzashi have a
friendly sister-to-sister talk. Meanwhile, Maya manages to recover two of the
Golems, as Chifuyu plans to notify the government. Kanzashi gives Ichika an
anime movie as a gift, and she confesses her love to him before running off.
Kanzashi realizes that she misspoke by saying that she loves anime
instead.2310'Cooking My Way'

Cecilia, Lingyin, Charlotte and Laura are relieved when Kanzashi sees Ichika as
just a friend. Meanwhile, Maya calls Ichika to the infirmary to have him take
the body measurements for IS improvements, resulting in a shocking debacle.
Hearing how Ichika loves the other girls' cooking, Cecilia later ask Houki to
help her make fried chicken. When Houki steps out of the kitchen, Cecilia
purposely adds perfume and hot mustard to the fried chicken for a sparkly
appearance. Houki comes back to sample it, wherein Houki is shown absent during
class the next day. Cecilia later meets up with Charlotte to cook pot-au-feu.
When Charlotte goes to tuck Laura in bed, Cecilia adds perfume and hot mustard
to the dish. Both Charlotte and Laura end up absent the following day. Cecilia
asks Lingyin to help her cook sweet and sour pork. However, Cecilia deliberately
blows up the kitchen pot after Lingyin mentions that her electric stove is a
slow burner. After Cecilia feels disappointed in herself, Ichika brings Cecilia
to his room, where they make rice balls together. At a fancy restaurant, Tabane
Shinonono easily defeats Phantom Task, but she offers to make a personal IS for
Madoka.2411'Looking For Memories'

autumn leaves, Ichika takes a picture of the autumn leaves, mistakenly not
taking her into account. After Charlotte helps Ichika fish for his lens cover
under the bridge, they head to the shrine, where Cecilia, Lingyin, Charlotte and
Laura vie for his attention. While evading the four, Ichika crosses paths with
Kanzashi and carries her, only to crash into Houki. Following a picnic with the
girls, Ichika and Houki walk into a bamboo forest, where Squall appears and
takes a picture for them. Ichika becomes curious after Squall departs with
mentioning him by name. Later, Ichika drops his camera off the balcony of the
temple. At the stairway, he encounters Madoka, who attacks him, piloting her
personal IS, the Black Knight. On top of a tower, Tatenashi fights Squall, who
is armed with the Golden Dawn. Houki and Cecilia look for Ichika at the temple,
but the two are attacked by Autumn. The rest of the students and staff head back

monorail. Houki and Cecilia pin down Autumn and kill her in an explosion.
However, the two later witness Madoka stabbing Ichika, just as the bomb explodes
in the distance. Houki catches Ichika and cries for him to awaken. After the
bomb was located, Lingyin, Charlotte, Laura and Kanzashi luckily disarmed it in
time. In a vision, Ichika is seized by Madoka, but a young girl in white lends
Ichika a helping hand. Lingyin, Charlotte, Laura and Kanzashi are thwarted by
Squall after trying to disable Madoka. Tatenashi, who diverts Squall with a shot
to break her barrier, signals Ichika to attack in White Knight form, but Madoka
intercepts him. After Squall fires Ichika to the ground, Squall and Madoka
withdraw, as they have collected enough data. In a hot springs bath, Ichika
relaxes while thinking about Madoka's locket containing a photo of Chifuyu. He
hides behind a rock when the girls enter the bath, since the owner mistakenly
reversed the bath signs during his stay. Due to dizziness, Ichika faints and
floats, causing the girls to scream.26OVA'World Purge-hen'
