HOW DO I USE HOOTIE?

We designed Hootie to be very simple to use so you can act fast in a potentially
dangerous situation.

To activate Hootie’s loud siren and ultra-bright strobe light, pull the
removable top pin from the body. The siren will emit an ear-piercing 130db
alarm; the nearly-blinding strobe light will begin flashing immediately. Keep
the speaker uncovered and face it toward your target.

To stop the siren and strobe light, replace the top pin into the body and they
will instantly stop.

 



HOW DO I MAKE SURE I DON’T ACCIDENTALLY ACTIVATE THE ALARM?

We specifically designed and engineered Hootie with no buttons to ensure no
accidental alarms will happen.

To pull out the pin requires over two pounds of pulling force, making it easy to
pull intentionally but not accidentally.

You can keep Hootie in your bag or pocket and not be afraid of accidental
alarms.



DO I NEED HOOTIE IF I ALREADY CARRY MACE OR PEPPER SPRAY?

Yes, in fact, Hootie can be more effective than mace or pepper spray by creating
a diversion, attracting attention and help, and scaring off a would-be attacker.

While pepper spray and mace can also be helpful, there have been many reports of
people accidentally spraying themselves or missing their target which can create
even more danger for a potential victim.

At Hootie, we’re committed to making our personal alarm extremely affordable so
as many women as possible can have and carry one by itself or along with mace
and pepper spray if they choose to.



HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST?

Our extremely loud siren & ultra-bright strobe light will last for 40 straight
minutes once activated.

Return & Refund Policy

We offer a flexible 30 days return-refund policy to make your online shopping
experience easier. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we
can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

U.S Orders:

We accept returns of Hootie in their original packaging (including all printed
inserts, parts, and pieces) without signs of wear and tear within the first 30
days after the shipment.

Tax and shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, these costs
will be deducted from your refund.

How to Return:

Request a RMA number by emailing support@gethootie.io with your order number,
the name of the item(s) you would like to return, and the reason why the item(s)
did not work out. After receiving your RMA number, please include the RMA number
on the outside of the box. If your order was shipped to a U.S. address, you’ll
receive a free shipping label via email within 24 hours.

International Orders:

We accept returns of Hootie in their original packaging (including all printed
