BCPS will not be printing 1st Quarter Report Cards. Instead, you can find your
report card on Virtual Counselor on November 12th.

School Uniform Advisory

Please be reminded that students are to wear their Somerset Academy uniforms on
a daily basis, including their student IDs. As of Nov. 10th, we will no longer
allow students to come in jeans on cold weather days. Since there have been some
issues with students complying with this rule, students will only be allowed to
wear official school uniform pants in khaki or navy blue or khaki or navy blue
shorts.
Student ID's, Uniforms, and Tardy to Class

Effective Monday, October 11th, all students will be responsible to wear their
school IDs visible during school hours while on campus. This is a safety
precaution to help us recognize our student body. In addition, we would like to
remind our students that Somerset Academy is a Uniform School. Please follow our
school uniform policy posted on our school’s website.

Revised Early Sign-Out Policy

We are temporarily revising our Early Sign-Out Policy until further notice:

No students shall be released within the final 90 minutes of the school day
unless the Administration determines it is an emergency. Early sign outs are not
allowed after 1:30pm on regular days and 11:15 am on Early Release Days.

We thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Thank you.

We encourage all of our families to complete one lunch application form per
family. Lunch applications must be an original (no emails/scanned copies
accepted)

Varsity Football Team: FIFC Champions!

Congratulations to our Varsity Panther Football team and Coaches who are the new
FIFC Champions! They beat Florida Christian 16-6 at the Championship Game. GO
PANTHERS!
Swim Team State Finalists!

Congratulations to Coach Miller and the State Finalists Panther Swim Team! Boys
200 medley relay took 7th place. Enrique Rodriguez finished 7th in the 200 IM
and 5th in the 500 freestyle. Aldo Zepeda finished 2nd in the 100 backstroke. GO
PANTHERS!
Wrestling National Champs!

Somerset Wrestling won the AAU Scholastic Duals National Championship in Orlando
. They were 11-0! Go Panthers!
Colten Hoo: Appointed to West Point Military Academy!

Senior, Colten Hoo, received an extra special honor when he accepted his
graduation diploma. Colten Hoo received an appointment to the United States
Military Academy at West Point. In order to be considered, a student must
receive a nomination from a Member of Congress. Last fall, Rep. Debbie Wasserman
Schultz’s Academy Nominating Board provided him with that nomination.

Rep. Wasserman Schultz and Somerset Principal Dr. Bernardo Montero presented
Colten with his diploma at Somerset’s graduation ceremony.
