 * THE STORY BEHIND THE BOOK WHICH BECAME THE STORY
   
   EVER SINCE I WAS A LITTLE KID I WAS MORE COMFORTABLE WITH NUMBERS THAN I WAS
   WORDS. IN FACT, FROM THE AGE OF 4 THROUGH TO 28 I DIDN'T USE WORDS AT ALL,
   JUST RANDOM SEQUENCES OF NUMBERS. CRAZY RIGHT?
   
    
   
   'PEARSON, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FOR DINNER?', MY MOM WOULD PATIENTLY ASK.
   'TWELVE', I WOULD RESPOND. 'NINETEEN', 'FORTY FIVE', 'TWO HUNDRED AND THREE',
   'SIX'. YOU GET THE PICTURE.
   
    
   
   WHILST MY NUMSKULL MOTHER NEVER FIGURED THEM OUT, THERE WERE PATTERNS IN
   THESE NUMBERS; PATTERNS WHICH I ONLY PARTIALLY UNDERSTOOD MYSELF.
   
    
   
   I DECIDED TO DEVOTE MY LIFE TO UNCOVERING WHAT THESE SEEMINGLY ARBITRARY
   NUMBERS MEANT, WHAT IT WAS I WAS TRYING TO SAY AND TO UNDERSTAND BETTER WHY I
   COULDN'T JUST COMMUNICATE 'NORMALLY'.

   In my daily sessions - either via Zoom or face to face - I work with clients
   towards a really simple goal - to gradually replace words with numbers.
   
    
   
   The experience is immersive, sometimes exhausting but occasionally fun.
   
    
   
   In short it works like this - I don't use any words at all and just bark out
   random numbers. You have to figure out what I mean. It really is as simple as
   that.
   
    
   
   Yes, it can be time-consuming, yes, candidates are often left tearful and
   exhausted. By after two hundred weeks of intensive one-to-one sessions I -
   for one - occasionally feel like some kind of progress is made, even if it is
   impossible to quantify. But the best things can't be quantified, right? Like
   a sunset. Or a puppy. Or a taco or whatever.
   
    
   
   Anyway, back to the course - the cost is high - I am upfront and transparent
   about that - but the benefits can perhaps be significant.
   
    
   
   Clients typically commit to the full four years and need to be prepared to
   work with me directly, seven days a week, 8am - 11pm.
