VARICOSE & SPIDER VEINS

Varicose veins are veins that have become swollen, twisted, and visible through
the skin. They typically develop in the legs, where the veins have to work
against gravity to transport blood back to the heart. Normally, healthy veins
possess valves that allow blood to only flow in one direction and prevent
backflow. However, in varicose veins, these valves become weak or damaged,
leading to accumulation of blood in the veins. This condition causes the veins
to bulge and twist, exhibiting their characteristic appearance.
