When Robbie’s 14 year old mum tearfully abandons him on a London doorstep barely
hours old, she doesn’t realise the impact that decision will have and the
incredible journey that her mixed race son will be forced to embark upon in
1960’s Britain. An often difficult journey, which for Robbie will include
children’s homes, social workers, foster parents, first love and heartbreaking
loss, it will ultimately be one on which he will realise the type of man he’s
meant to be and what it is that is truly important in life.

A Thousand Doors is a film musical. It is a story about possibility, about never
knowing what lies behind any of the doors we are faced with in life, but always
finding the strength to open them.

Andy Price is a multi award-winning composer with over 25 years of experience
writing music for film, TV, radio and theatre. Having scored many UK theatre
productions and radio dramas for the BBC in the 1990s, his first work to screen
included collaborations with Aardman Animations, amongst them the Academy Award
nominated short films Wat's Pig and Humdrum.

In 2000, he was nominated for a BAFTA for his score for the documentary series
Elizabeth. Other more recent TV drama credits include Silent Witness,
Knightfall, Hetty Feather, Wolfblood, Law & Order: UK and Robin Hood.

Gary Wilmot MBE is an award-winning artist with over 45 years of experience
writing, directing and performing in television and theatre. Recent credits
include; devising and co-writing Hackney to Hollywood with Oscar winning
lyricist Don Black, writing lyrics and music for Santa Claus the Musical and in
2018, debuting his play; Sweet Lorraine.

He has composed songs for a variety of performers ranging from comedian Julian
Clary to operatic soprano Marilyn Hill Smith, and was honoured to perform his
own highly acclaimed Tube song for HRH Prince Charles’ private 70th birthday
party in 2019. In 2020, Gary can be seen as The Wizard in Wicked in London’s
Westend.
