How it Began

WayUp is a US-based job site and mobile app for college students and recent
graduates. Job candidates are matched with employers based on what they’ve
indicated as their interests, experience, and skills on their online profile.
Robert Daniel, lead for Sales and B2B Marketing for WayUp, has used SnackMagic
for his prospective client needs for the past two months. WayUp’s clients are
mainly HR executives who are trying to recruit professionals for their
businesses. “We help companies hire the best, most diverse early career talent,
so we help candidates find amazing internships in early career jobs,” said
Robert. With lots of companies also calling on HR executives, WayUp is always
looking for new ways to stand out and be memorable.

WayUp chose SnackMagic instead of other snack boxes because it’s the only one
that’s 100% customizable. “There were some others that seemed like they would
just take a lot of clicking for us or our customers, or it was a process on top
of a process, SnackMagic seemed really easy,” explained Robert. Moreover,
WayUp’s initial attraction to SnackMagic was the effortless user interface that
allows recipients to pick exactly what products go in their box from a menu of
over 500 items. 

Robert decided to use SnackMagic after his CEO sent him a box. “My CEO bought me
a snack box and I’m like, ‘Oh, this is really cool.’ I had fun picking what I
wanted and getting my cool box, so I’m like, ‘Oh, we should do this for
customers.’” With SnackMagic’s gifting program that’s as simple as sending a
link, the WayUp sales team was armed with a major selling tool.

Conjoining Forces

Because everyone has now moved to WFH, it can be even more of a challenge to
decide on what to give to prospective clients when you don’t know what the best
address is for sending the gift or how long it will take for it to arrive. “It
was just very easy, I just clicked the different things that I wanted and it
arrived, whatever it was, a handful of business days later, so we just thought
it was an innovative way to send something to a customer,” said Robert.
“Everyone’s virtual now, so we can just email them the link, they could pick
what they want, they put in their address and away we go.”

SnackMagic is perfect for nailing that sale because it leaves a memorable
impression on clients at any part of the sales process. “We would use it for
prospects that I would say we’re in the mid to later stage. Sometimes it would
be prospects who hadn’t gotten back to us recently or people who we had a
scheduled call maybe three or four weeks later, just as a way to stay top of
mind, or as a thank you for a few customers that sign.” In that way, SnackMagic
isn’t just a snack box to send to customers, but it’s a whole experience that
starts from the moment the potential client receives the link, to when they eat
the last snack from their box. Every time clients go for another snack from
their box sitting in their home office or kitchen, they’ll be thinking about
that potential partnership. 

The most important element of a gift for a prospective customer is knowing that
they enjoyed their treat. The ability to see direct feedback from customers in
the form of Thank You notes is a measurable way to track if the gifts were a
success. “We got a ton of thank you notes in general, the reaction is really
positive.” Similarly, SnackMagic gifts are met with such positive responses
because of how unique the product is and the diversity of options on the menu
that keep recipients excited because they wouldn’t normally see those snacks in
stores. “I think it’s just a really creative way to send something to a client
easily. You’re not guessing what someone likes. Everyone can discover different
things that they want, but then again, everyone has their little preferences.”

It’s a little different to me than just sending a Starbucks gift card, which
everyone sends. SnackMagic is a new brand that clients aren’t familiar with, so
it’s something different to try.

Moving forward, WayUp will be a frequent user of SnackMagic in the coming months
as a secret weapon to grow their sales. “I think each month, we should use it a
handful of times to engage people. It’s pretty cost-efficient,” said Robert.
“People seem to like it, and it’s really quick and easy to just send it.” With
boxes starting at $45 and no subscription required, SnackMagic is perfect for
WayUp’s selling strategy because it’s budget-friendly and non-committal; using
it for sales that really need a boost. After just three months of using
SnackMagic, Roberts’ whole sales team is now using SnackMagic for their sales
successfully. 

What made SnackMagic such a memorable experience for WayUp is the ease of
sending the gift, but also the ease of managing the gifts, especially when
multiple need to be sent out. “For me as a user, it was just really easy to
click what I wanted, and then I was done, so a good interface, and then when our
team would buy it in bulk, let’s say one of our sales people wanted to buy 10
different snack magic links to send out, it was pretty easy to buy multiple
links at once and then send it to different people.” Moreover, the Treat
Dashboard allows admin to send out multiple gifts at once and track them all in
live time from a centralized interface. 

SnackMagic is the ideal solution for making an impression on prospective buyers
because it’s unique experience transforms companies like WayUp into a unique
option for their clients. Lasting and memorable impressions are the key to
making that sale so WayUp took that aspect of SnackMagic into consideration when
choosing a gifting program. “It’s a little different to me than just sending a

clients aren’t familiar with, so it’s something different to try.” To conclude,
