Detmer & Sons were just wonderful! Eric was in charge And everyone seem to know
exactly What their part was in installing the new furnace. Eric answered all my
questions no matter how small or big along with questions as a woman, may seem a
little stupid, And made me feel as if they weren’t stupid Which I really
appreciated. My furnace was well over 30 years old furnace and Eric not only
explained the new furnace, how offten to change filters, where the new filter
was located and pointed out arrow which shows the direction in which the filter
is placed, Eric also demonstrated how to operate the humidifier and explained
the ion wave which was also installed. Eric also installed a new thermostat and
explained how to use it and actually set the thermostat as I wanted it
Programmed. Eric kept everything moving and on track with his team and before I
knew it, the old furnace was gone and the new one installed. I would not
hesitate to recommend Detmer and Sons, their employees Eric and his team, and
Nate who did the sale of the furnace. I am so very pleased with Eric and his
teams work, professionalism, and knowing I was in good hands through the entire
Installation of a new furnace and the removal of the old. I am so much enjoying
the comfort of the new furnace. Thank you so much for “A job well done!”

inspections of our furnace and AC. If they identify an issue, the give easy to
understand explanations and show pictures they have taken. They take in
consideration how much repairs cost and prioritize what is most important. Very

Service tech was prompt, courteous, neat in appearance. Performed 6 mo.
Maintenance on furnace and a/c.For having purchased furnace and a/c from Detmer,
we felt the yearly maintenance fee was rather high for loyal customers. It does,
however, include no fees for service calls. We are retired on a fixed income
dealing with increased costs from everyone.

A great family-owned company, that my family has been using for at least a
couple generations. Recently had a furnace installed, and the guys doing the
work were very friendly, professional, and explained everything thoroughly. They
hit a few road bumps due to the age of my home, but they sorted them out with
ease. Also, the furnace I purchased is exactly as the salesman described in
terms of function, noise levels, etc. Additionally, I always get the impression
that everyone from the workers to the office staff all really do care about what
they are doing, as well as taking care of their customers. I will certainly
continue to use Detmer for all of my HVAC needs.

My heat wasn't working. I called and they had someone at my house in a couple
hours. The repair man was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. He kept us
updated during the repair process. We have used this company before and we will
use them again if needed. We will definitely recommend this business! Thank you

They have a great maintenance agreement I buy every year. This time Detmer
called me because they happened to have an opening which is great because I
always forget to call on time. I have a “vintage” heating/cooling unit that
surprises them every time that it’s still running. The technician this time
didn’t have a lot to say, BUT as he left, he mentioned the pan under my water
heater was wet. This mention saved me probably thousands of dollars. There was a
leak. So while this is not reflective of the work he came to do, it is
reflective of the caliber of person he was. I will remain loyal to Detmer and
one of these days hopefully not soon, I’ll upgrade my vintage unit with them.

The service experience is excellent beginning with a friendly & efficient
scheduler, a call with ETA from the technician the day of your appointment, an
on-time arrival, friendly & competent service and cleanup without any attempts
to oversell. We have utilized the services of local competing heating & cooling
companies in the past, but Detmer is our choice from now on. Highly recommend!

Detmer and sons is THE BEST. This is only the second review I’ve ever left on
Google because i don’t usually bother. But their service is second to NONE. They
are flexible and professional. Even the people who answer the phone are
wonderful. The CAA PLUS service package is a great package at a fair price. I
wouldn’t dream of hiring another company for my HVAC services - as long as
Detmer is in business, they have my business.

Detmer installed an add on himifier to my current system. My furnace is electric
as I do not have propane or natural gas. In the winter time it gets very dry in
our home and we previously have used a portable / refill required humidifier now
no more lugging around containers of water! After 2 days of operation it was
absolutely noticeable how much more comfortable the entire house felt! Wish I
wouldn’t have waited so long to add this! Thanks Detmer and the technicians job
well done!!

Heater sparked and quit. Called and was greeted very politely by customer
service. Eric the technician arrived within 2 hrs, called before arrival. Was
very polite and professional, diagnosed problem quickly. Control board needed
replacement. Had to order one. Was in next day. Arrived following day and
installed in under 40 mins. Heat back on. Definitely recommend company very
professional .

Diagnosed problem quickly, had the part on his truck and made the repair and A/C
was backup and running! Very friendly and fair price for a after hrs call. We

We have used Detmer in the past for our AC needs. This summer they installed a
ductless mini split on our main floor and we couldn’t be happier. Scheduling an
estimate was a breeze and every staff member was so friendly. The two
technicians who installed our unit were fantastic. They were on time, polite and

Andre arrived promptly and completed his inspection efficiently. Unfortunately
the power went out as he was completing his work. Power outage was within the
whole neighborhood and not a result of anything Andre was doing. He was able to

Scheduling our appointment was easy. The representative was on time, efficient,
courteous and finished quickly. He wore a mask without being asked when in our

From the operator who took my call to the folks who returned my calls they were
not only professional but also very friendly. A few other places we had called
were very short and seemed bothered. The tech who came wasn’t sure what caused
the issue but nonetheless it was working by the time they came. I will add that
from the time I called to when they arrived was maybe 2 hours which was awesome.
We were set up with a plan to service the AC and then 6 months later the heater
for a VERY reasonable price. I was shocked because other companies want $400
plus. The communication from person to person within their company is very fluid
and I didn’t have to repeat myself 500 times. That’s refreshing to see when that
many people are involved in the process. They truly take out the frustrating
pieces of calling places.

The techs were right on time. They had the old system removed and the new one
installed in just a little under two hours. The guys showed my girlfriend how to
operate the new thermostat. Detmer charged about half what another company had
quoted and that was for an off brand furnace. I would definitely suggest using
Detmer and have already told several people to give them a call.

Angel, the office admin, is also alway polite & professional. She worked with us

I called and got an appointment right away. The technician came at the beginning
of the appointment window. He wore booties in my house and was very
professional. He took less than an hour and had the part in his van. My furnace
was back up quickly and in a couple hours my house was warm. What more could you
want?

Andre Gann was knowledgeable and quickly found the problem as to why we didn’t
have heat. He called to locate the part; drove into Dayton to pick up the part.
After the new part was installed we had heat. Andre was personable and

Detmer was very efficient in dispatching the tech to my home. I requested 30 min
notice to travel home from work, which they happily did.The tech, Andre, quickly
diagnosed and resolved the problem. He provided me with useful information on
filter selection and furnace function to check over the weeks after his
visit.There was no upselling that other companies often try to do, just fixing
the problem.The whole process was incredibly smooth. I felt good settling up the
bill at the end.

From the initial phone call to report heating issues to installing new furnace

We have used Detmer and Sons for a number of years. They have routine inspection
and maintenance on old old Hvac systems which lasted for 27 without major
problems. Knowing it’s age we decided to be proactive and replace it with a new
furnace and air conditioning. The install was done in one day with no
inconvenience on our part.We certainly will continue our relationship with

Tech came early morning after late call by me the night before w no heat.He
fixed the issue even though it took longer than expected to troubleshoot and the
price of service call was very fair.Highly recommend and I never at any time was

My furnace stopped working randomly. I called Detmer and they were able to get
someone out same day who was flexible around my schedule. Very honest! I have an
old unit but he did not try to pressure me into getting a whole new furnace, but

We are the current owners of a home built in the 1950’s which had always been
serviced by Clark’s. When Detmer & Sons bought out Clark’s I was very
apprehensive but continued our furnace/air conditioning maintenance service with
Detmer and have never been disappointed. When we had furnace issues in December
2018 they were there as often and as late as necessary to fix the problems. They

Steve R was our tech. He was thorough, informative, professional, and friendly.
We have a refrigerant leak and he really went the extra mile to make sure
everything was taken care of. He even washed and cleaned off my unit for me. He
was honest about future maintenance and associated costs and reasonably priced

This is a rental unit I own. The husband is sick in bed and the wife is a nurse
who takes care of a few covd19 patients. She toled the installers that and they
were very careful to be masked when they were inside the house and very

Just had a Lennox heat pump and air handler installed at my mom's house where I
grew up in Beavercreek. Nate the salesman was great and explained all the
questions I had with details that are important in making a good decision. The
installers Derrick, Dwayne, and Tim were great as well. Hard working and nice.
Also answered questions I had with the install that were very good and made the
job run smoothly. Would definitely recommend Detmer for your HVAC needs!

We had the tech out to our house for the yearly winter maintenance on our
furnace, something we do every year. Well for the last 21 years we've dodged the
bullet, but this year we took the hit...the furnace was leaking dangerous
amounts of carbon monoxide (or dioxide, I can't keep that straight) and had to
be replaced. The tech red tagged our unit and shut it down, not a good thing
when temps are in the 30's. Well he contacted the salesman, who worked us into
his schedule that same day. The salesman explained our options, and all of the
technical speak and he gave us 4 options to choose from. We made our choice,
arranged for financing and scheduled the install for the very next day! The next
day 2 installers showed up around 9:00am and started right to work. My husband
lost the coin toss and was the one who stayed home from work so the install
could happen; he said that the installers were friendly and answered any
question he had, but that they kept right on working while they did it. Things
went like clockwork and by the time I got home from work at 4:00pm they were
finished and gone and my new furnace was quietly heating my home. I would
recommend Detmer & Sons Inc. any day of the week; their techs know what they're
doing, their salesmen are informative but not pushy, and their products are top
of the line.

I came home from work to no AC. Gave them a quick call and they fit me in just a
few hours later. Brian came and saved the day. He was friendly and professional
and in just a matter of minutes he had a bad capacitor replaced, coolant test

I have had 3 homes and always been with this company going back to 1990( or
Clark's in New Carlisle now part of Detmer). Chris had been our man for service
for years and he passed away. While I do miss him, Brendan B came and was quite
professional and thorough today with the service call on the furnace.More
importantly, a capacitor was bad and had to be replaced on the AC unit. Brendan
was conscientious and efficient and explained what he needed to do, and offered
me a fair discount.Now Brendan is our guy!

After having another company service our air conditioner multiple times in the
past several weeks without a good outcome, we called Detmer & Sons. First, we
were able to reach a representative with our first call. He set up an
appointment for service that same day. Second, the serviceman Brian actually
came the same day & time he was scheduled to come! Third, he checked the air
conditioner and was able to diagnose the problem and then relay the problem
succinctly with several solutions. Brian was knowledgeable and professional. He
stated he would order the necessary item and return when the item was received.
We were so grateful for someone who was knowledgeable and able to explain what
was going on with on air conditioner! Awaiting his return.

The salesman was very attentive to our needs. Great communication and great
price. The two men who came to install our new HVAC were excellent. They went
right to work, removed the old HVAC system, installed the new one. They answered
all of our questions, walked us through everything. Very professional! I'd

Called Detmer and Sons to come out and to do an annual service on my furnace and
A/C units. They scheduled the service within a couple days around my schedule. I
received a reminder call the day before along with a call the day of the service
to advise the tech should be there shortly. They were all very professional and
pleasant to talk to on the phone. I showed the tech were everything was and he
was on his way. It took maybe an hour and I am good to go for another year.

This was the dead of winter. I'd been loyal to "my guy" for years but he has had
health issues and referred me to Detmer. Our furnace is 28 years old and my
biggest fear was that somebody would come in and say the entire unit needs to be
replaced. The blower would run all the time and would not cycle off. Detmer
replaced the defective component and problem solved. Detmer charged $194 which
included a service call fee of $89 which I shall heretofore refer to as an
"appearance fee". Now the blower worked perfectly but there was a very loud
grinding sound that would appear intermittently. Called Detmer again and paid
another appearance fee. Luckily the "grinding sound" appeared while the
technician was at our house. He determined that the furnace and air conditioner
were running at the same time due to a defective thermostat. He disconnected the
wires in the defective thermostat that went to the air conditioner which
resolved the problem. He wanted to replace the thermostat but we wanted to think
about it. Next day we decided to have them replace the thermostat since the
grinding sound never returned. Total for the new thermostat was $299 including
the appearance fee. Was not charged another appearance fee for the third return.
Bottom line: Paid total of $483 for a 28 year old furnace. I hope that was a
wise decision. Only time will tell. Anyway I'm pleased with the service and
diagnosis Detmer provided and will give them 5 stars. Thank You VEry Much,

While out of town on business our air conditioner stopped working suddenly on a
sunny 90 degree day with my wife and newborn home. Detmer and Sons responded to
my call for assistance by showing up to fix the issue within one hour! The
