PARTNERS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THEMES IMPROVING THE TALENT PIPELINE, FROM END TO END From campus recruiting to the job offer, the hiring process has many steps where talent can be overlooked, blocked, or lost to competitors. What are the most effective ways in which employers can remove obstacles and boost engagement? How can they make the most of other pathways besides recruiting, including internships and referrals? HOW TO MAKE RESKILLING PART OF A CORPORATE CULTURE OF LEARNING Employers who make reskilling a continuous part of their culture can cost-effectively develop the talent they need, as well as enhance their employer brand. How can companies best identify the employees who can make that shift? What are the most effective new educational techniques, which put an emphasis on active learning? How can corporate leaders promote a mindset of continuous learning and curiosity? HOW HIGH-PERFORMING WORKPLACES CAN SHOW COMPASSION, TOO A competitive, innovative business can be a demanding place to work. Yet employee engagement and retention depend on empathy and compassion–especially when workers are expected to take certain risks and deliver maximum effort. What does this kind of sensitivity look like in a workplace with high expectations? RECRUITING AND RETAINING WORKERS THROUGH SOCIAL IMPACT Employees, especially younger ones, care more than ever about issues like social justice and climate change. How can employers listen better to those concerns and reflect workers' values in corporate policies, volunteer programs, and philanthropic work that translates into genuine impact? MAKING WORK MEANINGFUL IN AN UNCERTAIN WORLD Work has caused burnout, to be sure, but it can also bring a sense of purpose, satisfaction, and even stability. What is the role of companies to bring a sense of meaning to their enterprises at a time when workers are doing a lot of soul-searching about the role of work in their lives? How can employers connect their business with the things that employees care about? IS YOUR COMPANY DEVELOPING AN INCLUSIVE CULTURE? Instead of looking for a "culture fit" in new employees, how can companies make their workplace better-suited to diversity? What are the key elements that make an employer welcoming to a diverse labor pool, from personalized benefits to a sense of belonging? How Much Does Career Growth and Employee Retention Add to a Company's Reputation for Inclusion? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VENUE The conference will take place at the Hudson Loft, a photo, film, and event space, located in the South Park district of DTLA.
