(Mainichi/Kazuhisa Soneda) TOKYO -- Another system failure hit Mizuho Bank Ltd. ATMs on Feb. 11, prompting the bank to suspend operation of the machines at some 90 cash points nationwide. According to Mizuho, multiple ATMs at nine satellite branches stopped working at around 9 a.m. due to system malfunction. The bank subsequently suspended all ATMs at about 90 cash points at 3:30 p.m. for inspection and recovery efforts. The system was back online about an hour later. The bank, one of Japan's largest financial firms, is investigating the cause of the failure. Since February 2021, Mizuho has experienced a string of system failures affecting their ATMs, and the bank was issued a business improvement order by the Financial Services Agency.
