This class is for all skill levels, whether you’re completely new to magic or a more experienced performer who wants to learn from the best. The class is designed so that you can practice and learn on the edge of your own personal abilities. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in a month-long learning experience, level up your magic and performance skills, and finally learn how David Blaine pulls off his favorite tricks, this class is for you. How much magic knowledge and experience do I need to take this class? Even if you have no experience, you’ll be able to perform nearly all of the tricks you’re learning in class right away. If you’re more experienced, David’s unique approach to magic, psychology, and performance will take your skills to the next level. Do I need any special materials? True to David Blaine’s no-fluff style, all you need is a deck of cards. Multiple decks may come in handy — it’ll give you the chance to write on or sign them, destroy them, rip cards, use duplicate cards, or use multiple decks with different colored backs. David also shows some specific tricks that use a heat-sensitive erasable pen and handcuffs, as well as miscellaneous objects like coins, napkins, and dollar bills, but you don’t need these things to get the most out of the class. Do I get a signed David Blaine deck of cards with my purchase of the class? For this class, David Blaine and Studio designed together a limited edition deck of cards that’s only available through the class. David flew down to the factory and signed the boxes of 10,000 decks of cards. The first 10,000 students who enroll in the class will receive a limited edition Studio x David Blaine deck of cards signed by David. Since you may want to keep this signed deck in good condition, the first 10,000 students will also receive a second Studio x David Blaine deck that’s unsigned that you can use in class. Is this class suitable for kids? Kids love David Blaine’s magic and will certainly be able to understand and learn the tricks he shares in this class. But you may decide to skip some of the physical tricks when taking the class with your child. How exactly does the month-long class work? Once you enroll, you’ll be placed in a peer group of about 20 other people from around the world. You’ll all take the class together and start on the same day. Every few days, you’ll have a new lesson assigned to watch. In this lesson, you’ll learn a new trick or new method from David. After the lesson, you’ll practice what you learn and then, if you want, you’ll go and try out the trick on your friends, family, or any other audience. You can decide when’s most convenient for you to learn and practice each lesson. The skills you learn will build on each other through out the class. By the end of the class, you’ll know exactly how to perform dozens of tricks and understand how to think like a magician. What is the time commitment and schedule for this class? The time commitment for the class is around 2-3 hours per week for 4 weeks. The class is flexible, so you can work it around your own schedule, but structured enough to keep you on track. Are classes live? Do I have to log in at a specific time? No, all the video lessons are pre-recorded, allowing you to watch them whenever is best for you. Inside the classroom, you’ll see a Today’s Tasks section where you’ll see the classwork you should complete to stay on track. Even though other students might watch lessons at different hours during the day, everyone is watching the same videos day by day. It will still feel like you’re in a classroom and part of a vibrant group of students.
