New Catalytic Strategies and Green Redox Transformations for Chemical Synthesis
with Metal Nanoparticles and Polyoxometalates

Our research is focused on the development of new catalytic strategies for
chemical synthesis generating structurally complex molecules, heterocyclics or
natural product. One of our research aim is to synthesize several biological
interesting molecules from simple and commercial building blocks in a single
step, without the need of protecting or functional groups and with structure
tunability. A key step that plays crucial role to these setereoselective organic
transformations, is the catalytic transfer hydrogenation of the initially
designed nitro-derivatives. In this way, we hope that these chemo-catalytic
equivalents to nature’s bio-synthetic pathways, enable us to built a series of
bio-interest molecules under simple and new synthetic approaches.

Our approach to this field is focused on the bellow main research programmes:

 * Green Organic Redox Transformations Catalyzed by Metal Nanoparticles (NPs)
   and Polyoxometalates (POMs)
 * Photo-catalytic Organic Processes for Selective Redox Organic Trasformations
 * New Catalytic Strategies and Mechanistic Studies for Controllable Chemical
Synthesis of Heterocyclic Biological Active Molecules
 * Mesoporous Nanocomposite Frameworks for Enhanced the Catalytic Activity
