Sawyer had started a job as a fire investigator and Jessica had just moved there for pediatric residency. They found each other on Bumble, a dating app and the rest is history. HOW DID SAWYER POP THE QUESTION Spoiler: I said Yes Sawyer and Jessica had been going to Lua Brewery in Des Moines since it first opened, and it quickly became their favorite place. Sawyer knew he wanted to incorporate it in the proposal. At the 2021 October fest at Lua sawyer secretly spoke to some of Lua’s staff to plan the proposal. At the 2021 Lua Anniversary Dinner, Jess believed that the head chef requested they come early for a special pre-dinner tasting. When the dish was served, Sawyer’s dish had the ring hidden under a napkin. He proposed in front of the Lua mural, where a photographer was ready to capture the moment.
