Academy Farms is a 108-acre property located in the Agricultural Land Reserve in the South Langley area. We are a social enterprise of the John Volken Academy that offers a holistic, therapeutic approach to residential recovery from addiction and mental health issues. Our healing community model focuses on real life skills. It provides our Students with the opportunity to live invaluable life experiences, advance their proficiency in the work force, and create the confidence needed to carry them into the next stage of their lives after graduating from their recovery journey. Academy Students have the opportunity to work on the Farm, helping to operate and maintain the state-of-the-art facility, contribute in the raising of the animals, and support the Farm Market in retail sales and product inventory. As a registered not-for-profit society, we are sponsored by private charitable foundations, friends of the Academy, and supportive businesses. Our Farm SPECIALTY FARM MARKET Our Farm Market is a one-stop shop for all things water buffalo and bison, including an array of delectable roasts, steaks, and deli meats, assorted cheeses and yogurt, and our famous buffalo milk. Only health-conscious, hand-picked, better-for-you products are selected for our specialty Farm Market. FRESH LOCALLY SOURCED PRODUCE We carry a variety of organic, always fresh, in-season fruit and vegetables from local partners, sourced from BC farms and suppliers. The John Volken Academy is a world-class treatment centre located in Surrey, BC. The 2-year drug and alcohol rehabilitation program provides residents (referred to as Students) with valuable life and work skills for body, mind, and spirit that help them better transition into the world as proficient and productive citizens after graduating from the Academy.
