T3 Alaska is a network of students, educators, and community partners who are dedicated to actualizing collaboration, empathy, and equity. T3 clubs in local high schools allow students to explore STEAM studies through a focused curriculum, problem-based learning, and service projects of relevance to their communities. Spanning the state of Alaska, T3 sites gain access to curricula, mentorship, peer and professional networks, training workshops, travel opportunities, project funding, and MakerSpace technology, including drones, Raspberry Pi computers, and 3D printers. The T3 Alliance Alaska Program is open to students at participating schools. There is no cost for students to participate. Once involved in the T3 program, students gain access to a variety of opportunities including mentorship, extracurricular clubs, access to Makerspace equipment, travel, and more! Apply to T3 Alaska! MENTORSHIP T3 Alaska students are involved in a supportive community that promotes constant learning and a positive mindset. Being involved in the with T3 connects students to industry leaders who are working on the big challenges that we face in Alaska. By carrying out research with the help of our community partners, students are more likely to encounter internships and job opportunities. Students can also write mini grants to fund their projects, gaining important experience in budgeting and grant writing. MAKERSPACES A Makerspace is an environment where students can exercise their creative and technological skills. Makerspace equipment includes 3D printers, laser cutters, drones, and more. Students can utilize T3 Makerspaces for art, studying, and projects that solve community problems. The Makerspaces are run by teachers and school leaders who can provide guidance and training, both with projects and technology. Visit the UAF Makerspace website to see more about what these spaces can provide for students. TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES Because T3 Alaska spans the entire state, T3 students have the unique opportunity to visit communities around Alaska (and around the nation!) to learn about and use technology to solve community issues. T3 CLUBS Each year, T3 Alaska schools host student led clubs that work towards a technological solution to community issues. This year, student clubs include the Makerspace, Drones, Earth Observation, and Energy clubs. INTERESTED IN THE PROGRAM?
