HOW TO GIFT EVERYONE YOU LOVE A GREAT NIGHT’S SLEEP

At approximately 10 p.m. on any given night, you'll find me splayed out on my
bed futzing with an array of devices and products purchased because I—like most
people in this world—am in constant pursuit of a flawless night's sleep.
Weighted blankets, heating pads, massage cushions, an embarrassing number of
infused lotions and potions with their sans serif fonts making a mockery of the
fact that I've so heavily bought into the $70 billion business of sleep. 

But here's the thing: high-tech trinkets are fun and another luxury face serum
can never hurt, but I realize that the best eight (fine, six) hours I typically
get usually comes from things that offer simplicity and comfort. A soft
pillowcase I can melt into, a few chapters of a great book before shutting off
the light, silk hair ties that allow me to rest easy because I know they won't
leave a dent in the hair I spend 45 minutes styling before bed once or twice a
week. 

And I find that several other women dear to me feel the same way—in fact, I
remember a houseguest once telling me she checked the label on the silk

because she said she hadn't slept that soundly in ages. 

So while there's no wrong answer to the question of what to buy people you love

   Like me, my sister has long, thick hair that has to be managed with more than
   just a quick pass of a brush. Both us tend to either braid or lightly twist
