The Swiss School Association Shanghai is a group of parents and other interested
people dedicated to offering a Swiss educational component as well as Swiss
cultural activities in our home city of Shanghai. Our aim is to help our
children strengthen their bonds and social connections with our country of
origin, as well as share our Swiss heritage and history.

  

We are delighted to announce that as of January 2023, we have started a Swiss
educational project in cooperation with the German School Shanghai (Deutsche
Schule Shanghai or DSS). Within the DSS normal student day, the school makes
time to accommodate courses on Swiss topics and supports Swiss activities. The
classes and events are organized by Swiss teachers and taught in Swiss German
or, at times for a wider audience in English. The program overall is reviewed
and approved by the Swiss Confederation which provides an official subsidy for
its implementation.

 

On March 29th this year we held a joyful ceremony at the German School to
celebrate the launch of the project. The Consul General of Germany, Mr. Pit
Heltmann, the Consul of Switzerland, Mr. Ralph Steinegger, the Principals of
DSS, Ms. Susanne Hess (DSS Hongqiao campus) and Ms. Susanna Hasse (DSS Yangpu
campus) as well as Mr. Jens Baars, Representative of the Board of the German
School Shanghai Association were all in attendance.
