DESKTOP NOTIFICATIONS FOR MAC AND WINDOWS

If you’re using the Gather Desktop App (which is currently in beta), you can now
enable real-time native OS notifications on Mac and Windows devices! These
notifications make it easier to know what's happening in Gather and jump back
into your Space when you’re working in a different app, so you never miss the
important moments with your team. 



The desktop notifications you can receive include: 

 * Meeting reminders. If you’ve connected your Google Calendar and have an event
   starting soon.
 * Chat messages. You can either click the notification to view the Chat message
   in Gather or reply to the message directly via the notification. 
 * Requests to follow, lead, or join. Clicking the notification will open the
   Gather app so you can walk with your colleague or walk to their
   conversation. 
 * Ring notifications. Never miss the chance to connect when someone is Ringing
   your avatar. 
 * Space capacity notices. Admins will be notified when your Space has reached
   capacity and if anyone is prevented from joining the Space due to that
   limit. 

To start receiving desktop notifications, you’ll need to enable them via your
computer’s settings. We'll prompt you to do that after sending the first
notification, or you can manually change this setting from your computer
preferences. Here’s an example for Mac users: 



You can then configure which notifications you’d like to receive in the Gather
Desktop App. Go to Settings > Desktop to change these settings.
