   44Net is shorthand for Internet network 44 (44.0.0.0/9, 44.128.0.0/10), also
   known as AMPRNet. Since its allocation to amateur radio in the mid-1980s, the
   network has been used by amateur radio operators to conduct scientific
   research and to experiment with digital communications over radio.

   ARDC makes grants that helps kids get involved in amateur radio, giving them
   experiences that will help them succeed in technical careers.

   ARDC funds development projects that advance the state of the radio art. One
   such project is the M17 Project, which is advancing the state of the art in
   digital communications.

   ARDC partners with organizations like ARRL, Society of Women Engineers, and
   universities that serve underserved groups to provide scholarships to
   students pursuing technical degrees. These scholarship programs make
   selections based on a mix of need and merit, and many students write to us to
   let us know that they would not be able to attend college without scholarship
   assistance.
