hole in the wall kitchen in the midst of urban decay, and dream to build a
sandwich empire that would shake the stars themselves.

Khalid Jamal
Co-Founder, Rocky Mountain Sandwich Company

Born on August 22, 1981, Khalid Jamal embodies the spirit of perseverance and
innovation. A child of immigrants from East Africa, Khalid grew up immersed in
the entrepreneurial world, with his parents owning a tavern in Spain before
moving to Canada in the 1970s. Here, they launched their first Canadian business
in the mid-eighties, setting the stage for Khalid's future endeavours.

Khalid's upbringing in a family involved in diverse businesses—from food and
hotels to dry cleaners—instilled in him a deep understanding of the challenges
and rewards of entrepreneurship. Specializing in revitalizing struggling or
shuttered businesses and kickstarting startups, Khalid has become synonymous
with turning adversity into success. His approach is rooted in a focus on
systems, logistics, and integrating technology to rejuvenate traditional
business models.

With a keen eye for the critical aspects of business operations, such as
accounting, paperwork, and navigating the complex process of obtaining licenses
and approvals, Khalid has owned and revitalized businesses across Canada and the
US. His crowning achievement has been steering Rocky Mountain Sandwich Company
away from closure, transforming it into a beacon of quality, locally sourced
products for people on the go. Khalid's journey is a testament to grinding out

Kareem Jamal
Co-Founder, Rocky Mountain Sandwich Company

Kareem Jamal's story is one of ambition, leadership, and the pursuit of
excellence. As a child of immigrants from East Africa, Kareem's early life was
shaped by his parents' entrepreneurial ventures. After moving from Spain, where
they owned a tavern, to Canada in the 1970s, his family embarked on a journey of

sinking or closed businesses and startups. His diverse background, coupled with
experience in banking and securities, has honed his expertise in sales,

both Canada and the United States. Alongside his brother, he played a pivotal
role in rescuing Rocky Mountain Sandwich Company from the brink of closure.
Today, he is driven by a mission to offer clients high-quality, locally sourced
