DANNY'S STORY
KID was founded in 1998 by the parents of sixteen-month-old Danny Keysar who
died when a portable crib collapsed around his neck in his Chicago home.
Although the portable crib had been recalled five years earlier, word of its
danger had not reached Danny’s parents.

Tomorrow, the CPSC is voting to determine if ASTM F2057-23 meets the
requirements of the STURDY Act. We championed both, born of the desire for an
effective solution all stakeholders agree on. We hope @HoehnSaricCPSC
@FeldmanCPSC, @TrumkaCPSC, @BoyleCPSC agree. We'll be watching!

Our involvement in the ASTM process and push for compromise is the reason for
the life-saving improvements in ASTM F2057-23. We believe it would have saved
our kids, and believe it will prevent others from dying like ours

Our passion for a solution + cultivation of broad stakeholder support was the
driving force behind the STURDY Act's success. Congress passed the STURDY Act
with overwhelming bipartisan support, with ASTM F2057-23 in mind.
