Has anyone been able to use Emlid RX with all Esri Apps? For me it works good
with Field Maps but fails to even connect to Survey123 and QuickCapture. If
anyone can guide about it.

This is like Trimble sells MGIS devices. You buy a meter level shell and then
activate the required accuracy level (sub-meter, sub-foot, RTK) via a
software key code. Code can be permanent or like subscriptions, expire after
a while. This saves landing costs.

product called Torch. Search for Sparkfun Torch. These guys really know their

Simple rectangular parking lot? Those are usually very easy to do with a
robot, and you get higher accuracy. Tool for the job.

The type of tribrach for robotic instruments matter. Years ago I was at a
company and we bought several tribrachs and used them interchangeably with
the ones that came with the robots. Many of the ones we bought had the
locking pin break because the whole locking mechanism get out of whack

I use the Maggie and it is listed as their “most sensitive” and I agree with
that. I consider it 50% more sensitive than their other more traditional
locators. This takes a bit of getting used to, especially for property
corners that are very close to the surface of the ground. Their company was
bought 5 or more years ago and prices keep going…

That is a great write up. On the cons to the 52cx bracket. A fellow surveyor
LS. He has seen that as a problem and he knows some guy that makes a special
reinforcement bracket for them that solves the knobs and what not from
breaking off. Just fyi. I am going to have to call and find that out. Also it
keeps that connection to the battery…

Here’s my 3 cents on magnetic gradiometers:
I have used several type since 1992. I have never found the added visual
meters or polarity features to be useful. I would rather look at the ground
and just listen to the instrument.
