WORLD ENERGY OUTLOOK 2021 - 24.02.2022

This event will be hosted in a live format with a maximum capacity of 200
persons.  However we keep a live stream option on hand in case the Covid-19
situation requires us to do so. Early February we will take this decision.

Only registered participants will be kept up to date of the possible format
changes. The final confirmation for participation can be expected at the latest
one day before the event.

The FPS Economy – DG Energy and the Energy Technology Club (an initiative of
Agoria) have the pleasure to invite you to the presentation of the “World Energy
Outlook 2021” presentation on Thursday 24 February 2022.

During this event, Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International
Energy Agency (IEA), will present the key findings of the World Energy Outlook
2021 (WEO).

Dr Birol will be introduced by Ms Tinne Van der Straeten, federal Minister for
Energy. She will also present the highlights of the Belgian energy policy. 

These high-level interventions will be followed by an interactive debate between
high-level panellists from the private and public sector on the future energy
security concept, looking into ways to ensure an uninterrupted supply throughout
the energy transition, as well as new topics to be addressed. During the debate
the audience will be able to participate through several online polling rounds.


ABOUT THE WORLD ENERGY OUTLOOK 2021

The WEO is the energy world’s most authoritative source of analysis and
projections. This flagship publication of the IEA has appeared every year since
1998. Its objective data and dispassionate analysis provide critical insights
into global energy supply and demand in different scenarios and the implications
for energy security, climate targets and economic development.

The 2021 World Energy Outlook (WEO) was published against the backdrop of
turbulent markets and a crucial meeting of the COP26 conference on climate
change in Glasgow. As such it provides an indispensable guide to the
opportunities, benefits and risks at this vital moment for clean energy
transitions.
