Courtesy Call with the Barangay officials of Barangay Balibago led by Barangay
Secretary, Mr. Raymund Fernandez held last 8 September 2022 to discuss the
proposal of equipping the said Barangay with a child-friendly space. SaferKidsPH
is represented by Marie Michelle Munoz Quezon of UNICEF and April Anne Correa of
Save the Children Philippines (5th and 6th from the left).

Dear Subscriber,

Last year, at our milestone celebration of ANZCHAM's 40th anniversary, we came
together and raised funds for the cause of #SaferKidsPH. As you know by now,
ANZCHAM is a private sector partner of this amazing program to help protect
Filipino children against the perils of online sexual abuse and exploitation
(OSAEC).

After much brainstorming and planning, we are very glad to share with you that
the funds we raised last year will go to the construction of a child-friendly
space in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga. As pictured above, our
partners at UNICEF have met with the local government officials to discuss in
earnest how this facility will help them in better law enforcement as well as
caring for children who have experienced OSAEC.

What is a child-friendly space?
Simply put, a child-friendly space is a facility that will provide the necessary
training to strengthen community-based child protection systems already in
place, increase protective behaviors of community members, facilitate access to
legal and justice systems to children and families, and provide support for
those that have been victimized. With proper equipment as well as proper
training of relevant personnel in the barangay, the child-friendly space will go
towards securing brighter futures for children by shielding and educating them
of the harms that inevitably come with the use of the Internet.

Through your generous support at our fundraising last year, we are able to help
#SaferKidsPH implement this project.

Another season to celebrate and help

An oil painting, Isang Kisap Mata, was the donation that fetched the highest bid
last at our last year's fundraising.

As we have done last year, we are again inviting you to be part of our
fundraising for #SaferKidsPH this year which will happen during our Christmas
celebration. You can do this by donating items for the auction and raffle that
will be held during the event. Among the items that you can donate for
auction/raffle are
 * Works of art (must be in good condition)
 * Rare collectible items (e.g., wines, memorabilia, autographed items, etc.,
   preferably with authentication)
 * Gadgets (must be brand new)
 * Other items/package of items of value(e.g., homeware/accessories, appliance
sets, jewelry/fashion items, etc.; must be brand new and authentic)

Should you be interested to donate, or should you want to donate other items
that are not under any of the categories above, please contact us
through programs@anzcham.com.

Our upcoming Christmas party/celebration

We're excited to share that our upcoming Christmas party this year will be held
in-person! All Is Bright: An ANZCHAM Christmas Celebration will happen on 6
December. Very soon we'll be opening up the registration for this event so stay
tuned!
