PCSO Provides Free Medical and Dental Mission for Senior Citizens in Pateros

On October 5, 2023, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), in
collaboration with the National Commission of Senior Citizens and the Office for
the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA), organized a successful free medical and
dental mission for senior citizens in Pateros.

This initiative was held in celebration of Elderly Filipino Week, as proclaimed
by Proclamation 470 of 1994, which designates the first week of October as a
time to honor and highlight the contributions and welfare of senior citizens.

The event held at the AMC Gym, Barangay San Roque, Pateros, brought together
various government agencies and organizations, including PHILHEALTH, PAGCOR,
Department of Health (DOH), Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP),
Philippine National Police (PNP), National Nutrition Council, National Center
for Geriatric Health, Nutritionist-Dieticians Association of the Philippines,
Culion Foundation Inc., MCKS Caring Heart, and Rotary District 3810. These
organizations played a vital role in providing free medical and dental services
to the senior citizens of Pateros.


A total of 174 individuals were able to benefit from free medical and dental
consultations, as well as receive free medicines.

Meanwhile, Pateros Mayor Miguel "Ike" Ponce thanked the PCSO and other
organizations participating in the free medical and dental mission.

"Sa lahat ng magagaling na volunteer doctors, nurses, at health workers, ako at
aking buong constituent's ay buong pusong nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat.
Ipagpatuloy po ninyo ang ganitong klaseng serbisyo para sa ating mga kababayan
lalo na sa ating mga senior citizen.”

The medical and dental mission is one of the Agency's programs led by Dr. Rouel
Aparato and nurses and dentists from the PCSO Medical

 








Millennial from Puerto Princesa hits 36.2-M Jackpot in 6/42 lotto

Mandaluyong City - A 30-year-old resident from Puerto Princesa, Palawan, hit the
jackpot prize of ?36,257,127.40 in the 6/42 Lotto drawn on Sept. 07, 2023.

With the combination of 03-31-15-19-10-27, his winning ticket locked a bright
future for him and his wife.

“Napakagandang biyaya nito para sa amin ng asawa ko. Sa katunayan po ay
nagsisimula palang kaming bumuo ng sarili naming pamilya. Maraming salamat po sa
PCSO sa mga ganitong pagkakataon na ibinibigay ninyo sa lahat ng kababayan natin
na umaasa na may suwerteng darating sa buhay,” he said.

He mentioned that he has been a devoted lotto player for nearly a decade and
plans to invest in real estate and start his own business. He claimed his
winnings at the PCSO Main Office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, on Sept.
11, 2023.

In accordance with Republic Act No. 1169, winners are given a one-year period
from the draw date to claim their prizes; otherwise, these prizes will be
forfeited to form part of the PCSO Charity Fund.

Furthermore, the public is notified that prizes exceeding PHP 10,000.00 are
subject to a 20% final tax in compliance with the provisions of the TRAIN Law.

To claim their jackpot prizes, winners must print their names and signatures on
the back of their winning tickets. Additionally, they should present two (2)
valid government IDs. Winners may claim prizes at the PCSO Main Office in
Mandaluyong City.

 




PCSO Supports Grand Derby Race as Title Sponsor

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) demonstrated its support for
the Philippine horse racing industry by organizing the 2023 PHILRACOM-PCSO GRAND
DERBY on October 8, 2023, at the Metro Turf Club, Inc., Malvar, Batangas.

The Grand Derby Horse Race is a prestigious event that celebrates the
Philippines' rich history and equestrian legacy. As a dedicated patron of
charitable causes and sporting events, PCSO's involvement in this esteemed
occasion further emphasizes its commitment to giving back to the community.

This exciting race occurred at the beautiful Malvar Racetrack, showcasing the
finest thoroughbred horses and skilled jockeys nationwide. PCSO and Philracom
sponsored the race's guaranteed prize of P3 million, distributed to the top six
horses that crossed the finish line.

The winning horse garnered a substantial ?1.8 million prize, while the second
and third-place finishers received P600,000 and ?300,000, respectively. The
fourth, fifth, and sixth finishers were awarded ?150,000, ?90,000, and ?60,000,
respectively.

"We are thrilled to be part of this year's Grand Derby Horse Race in Malvar,
Batangas. Our sponsorship reflects PCSO's ongoing dedication to supporting
events that promote sportsmanship and contribute to the well-being of the
Filipino people," shared Assistant General Manager for Gaming, Product
Development and Marketing Sector Arnel N. Casas, Chairman of the PCSO Committee
on Races.

In addition to promoting equestrian sports, this event also serves as a platform
to raise awareness on PCSO’s charitable initiatives. PCSO's participation aligns
with its mission to assist those in need and uplift communities through its
various programs.

PCSO believes that the horse racing industry should become known as a ground of
champions and an arena where the best Philippine Thoroughbreds compete to
showcase excellence and sportsmanship.
