RIVER OF FREEDOM (2023) is a documentary film from New Zealand, in release with
Journeyman Pictures UK.

Two years into the Covid-19 pandemic, Jacinda Ardern’s government enforce
mandatory vaccination on almost the entire New Zealand workforce. In early 2022,
thousands of citizens from all walks of life, rise in opposition and convoy to
Wellington, occupying Parliament grounds in a protest that rocks the nation.

 * RIVER OF FREEDOM was #1 in the New Zealand Box Office on Thursday 21
   September – beating Oppenheimer and Barbie.
 * RIVER OF FREEDOM was in the top #10-15 position in the NZ Box Office for 3-4
   weeks.
 * RIVER OF FREEDOM is the 3rd most successful release of all New Zealand made
   films in in 2023, according to Box Office Mojo. The other two were
   well-funded dramas.
 * RIVER OF FREEDOM enjoyed a top-selling position in sales on AppleTV + &
   YouTube Premium Movies for December 23 and January 24.
 * RIVER OF FREEDOM was listed by Graeme Tuckett in his Top Ten films of 2023
 * Provincial cinemas reported better sales or RIVER OF FREEDOM than Oppenheimer
   or even Lord of the Rings. 
 * RIVER OF FREEDOM was listed by our distributor as one of their Top 10 films
   of 2023 – after two weeks of release in December 2023.
 * RIVER OF FREEDOM was crowd-funded, relying on donations from the public to
   make the film – see our supporters here!

We screened our film in New Zealand cinemas from 7 September until 15 November
2023 to enthusiastic crowds in sold-out theatres. We started with 12 cinemas,
and through word of mouth, we reached 54 cinemas across the country. The
