TROPICAL STORM DEBBY SWIRLS OVER ATLANTIC, EXPECTED TO AGAIN DOUSE THE CAROLINAS
BEFORE MOVING NORTH

Tropical Storm Debby is taking a breather over the western Atlantic ocean but it
isn’t done dousing the coastal Carolinas before it slowly marches north. Debby
was expected to turn north late Wednesday toward the South Carolina coastline
for a second landfall, weather officials said Tuesday night. The storm carried
the threat not only of additional rainfall but also of tornadoes in coastal
sections of the Carolinas spreading north into southeast Virginia on Thursday.

PICKING A RUNNING MATE: INSIDE THE 16 DAYS BETWEEN KAMALA HARRIS' LAUNCH AND HER
CHOICE OF TIM WALZ

Kamala Harris’ whirlwind process to select Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her
running mate can be summed up in a word: weird. With President Joe Biden and
Harris, his vice president, seeking a second term together, Democrats weren’t
supposed to have a veep search at all. But as soon as the 81-year-old president
ended his campaign and endorsed Harris, it was go time. And there was no
playbook for the newly elevated candidate and a vetting team that in a normal
campaign would have months, not days, to make such a critical decision. What
followed was a 16-day blitz on

social media even before Harris made her pick public. Here's a look at the

DISNEY HIKES PRICE FOR DISNEY+, HULU AND ESPN+ SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES

(CNN) — Disney’s streaming services are about to get more expensive. On Tuesday,
the media company announced price hikes across the board for Disney+, Hulu, and
ESPN+. It comes in a deeply uncertain environment for media companies, which
face rapidly changing consumer behavior, rising costs of doing business, a
revitalized labor movement in Hollywood and harsh regulators that are skeptical
of mergers.Netflix remains the runaway leader in the streaming business – and
the only consistently profitable competitor in the segment. Disney is the

TROPICAL STORM DEBBY COULD PROVE JUST AS DANGEROUS AS A MAJOR HURRICANE

Tropical Storm Debby came ashore in Florida as a Category 1 hurricane Monday and
quickly downgraded, but the storm still poses serious threats as it slogs on
toward Georgia and South Carolina. Tropical storms can be deadlier than some of
the strongest hurricanes. In Debby’s case, the storm was expected to slow to a
crawl and dump up to 30 inches (76 centimeters) of rain over several days along
coastal Georgia and South Carolina. Winds won’t be the biggest danger, making
the storm's category far less important than the potential for catastrophic
flooding. The Sa

ICY BODY BAGS AND MOBILE COOLERS: HERE’S WHAT IT TAKES NOW TO SURVIVE OUTSIDE IN
AMERICA’S HOTTEST CITY

(CNN) — On some parts of an overheating Earth, the old complaint that “it’s not
the heat, it’s the humidity” gets truer by the year. But in the hottest big city
in the US, where sunbaked concrete sprawls across bone-dry desert, Phoenix is
setting records in both high temperatures and body count — and learning the hard
way that it’s not just the heat, it’s the vulnerability.Simply living in the
Phoenix area has turned deadly as fossil fuel pollution pushes temperatures to
dangerous highs. Temperatures are 5 to 6 degrees hotter in Phoenix now than the
already-scorching norm, a

MORE OLYMPIANS ARE SET TO COMPETE IN THE SEINE RIVER. HERE'S THE LATEST ON WATER
QUALITY CONCERNS

At the Paris Olympics, whether the water quality in the Seine River is safe
enough to host some swimming events has been a major question. Bacteria levels
in the river fluctuate constantly, and daily water samples are tested so
organizers can assess the risk and determine whether swims in the long-polluted
Paris waterway should go forward. Triathletes raced in the river Wednesday, and
organizers said Sunday night that Monday's triathlon mixed relay event would be
held as planned with the swimming portion in the Seine. Testing will continue
ahead of the marathon swi
