SUPPORT ACCESSIBILITY LEGISLATION

The Access Matters Aotearoa Trust leads a social change campaign in Aotearoa New
Zealand advocating for all areas of public life to be accessible to everyone,
regardless of access needs. Our movement has thousands of committed campaigners,
supporting organisations and business champions.

Unlocking the full potential of every New Zealander should be a given. Yet for a
quarter of our population basic activities are a daily struggle, due to access
barriers.

Our vision is for every Kiwi to fully participate in society. This means having
the opportunity to learn, get a job, and to take part in community and social
life.

Existing laws fall short, leaving organisations well-intentioned but without
guidance when it comes to creating true accessibility. We propose a
game-changing solution: legislation with accessibility standards, implementation
frameworks, and a clear pathway for addressing barriers.

It's not just about doing what's right; it's about doing what's smart. An
accessible society benefits everyone. Join us in making Aotearoa New Zealand
more inclusive.
