Swedish battery maker Northvolt, in November, sought bankruptcy protection in
the U.S. to allow it to restructure its debt, scale back its business and secure
a sustainable foundation for its continued operation. ➡️ Northvolt produces
lithium-ion batteries for the blooming electric vehicle industry, which has
recently been rocked by intensifying competition from the likes of China. ➡️
Once one of Europe’s most valuable privately held tech firms, Northvolt said it

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared he would lift emergency martial
law early Wednesday morning. The declaration came hours after the National
Assembly voted to overturn the president’s decree issued late Tuesday night amid
mounting protests and backlash from lawmakers. ➡️ Yoon said he has called for a
Cabinet meeting to officially lift martial law, as per the Constitution. The
military units that were deployed have also been withdrawn, Yoon announced. ➡️
The Bank of Korea said that it would boost short-term liquidity and deploy

Shipping giant Maersk have just unveiled its newest dual-fuel methanol vessel.
CNBC's Sri Jegarajah got an up close look in Singapore. ➡️ The 350-meter-long
vessel has a capacity of over 16,500 twenty-foot-equivalent containers, and more
importantly can run on traditional marine fuels as well as methanol, a low
carbon alternative fuel. Doing so allows the vessel to save up to 280 tons of
CO2 emissions per day. ➡️ Maersk aims to receive a total of 36 methanol-capable
vessels by 2027. Some would be newly built, such as this one, while others would

Morgan Stanley CEO Ted Pick expressed optimism about the stock market, saying
that the U.S. economy will continue to outperform in 2025. ➡️ “The world is
